Welcome Back!!!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope that your summer was filled with joy, relaxation, and memorable moments with your loved ones. As we begin this new academic year, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for the wonderful opportunities that lie ahead for our students. We cannot wait to welcome all of our students back to school on Tuesday, September 3rd!
At Stone Bank School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and challenging educational environment where every student can thrive and grow as strong learners, leaders, and community members. Our dedicated team of educators and staff has been working diligently to prepare for the year ahead, ensuring that our curriculum is engaging, innovative, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Over the summer, we welcomed several new talented and dedicated educators and staff members to the Stone Bank School community.
Marilyn Klein - 3rd Grade Teacher - Miss Klein is a 2023 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College. She began her teaching career in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. She is excited to share her passion for learning with her students.
Sarah Sullivan - Speech Language Pathologist - Mrs. Sullivan joins us with years of experience as a speech language teacher most recently in the Watertown School District. She will be an invaluable resource for our students and teachers.
Carolyn Wysocki - Interventionist - Ms. Wysocki has been a classroom teacher in Vermont and Franklin, Wisconsin. She will be working on targeted skills with students in small groups and one-on-one settings.

Aleah Travers - Special Education Paraprofessional - Miss Travers is pursuing her college degree and will be supporting our learners during the day while balancing her online coursework! She is a Stone Bank graduate and comes to us with experience working with special needs individuals through YMCA programs and county respite care.

We recognize the important role that parents and guardians play in our students' educational journeys. Your support and involvement are key to their success, and we encourage you to participate in school activities, attend parent-teacher conferences, and stay connected with your child's progress. Together, we can create a positive and supportive learning environment that empowers our students to reach their full potential.
We are thrilled to have you and your child(ren) as part of our school community this year. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We look forward to working together to make this school year a successful and rewarding experience for all.
Sincerely,
Dawn Preisler - 4K-5th grade Principal
Jeff Allen - Middle School Principal

Toileting Guidelines
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we prepare for a wonderful year of growth and learning at Stone Bank School, we wanted to take a moment to share our guidelines regarding toileting for our younger students. These guidelines are in place to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of all children in our care.
We expect all children to be toilet trained before starting 4K. This includes the ability to:
Recognize the need to use the bathroom.
Communicate the need for assistance if required.
Manage basic toileting tasks independently (pulling up and down pants, wiping, flushing, and washing hands).
Children with special needs for toileting may have accommodations written into an IEP or 504 plan for the school to follow.
We understand that young children may have occasional accidents, especially as they adjust to the school environment. In many instances, our staff is prepared to assist your child in such situations. To facilitate this, please ensure that:
Your child has a change of clothes in their backpack at all times.
You notify us of any specific needs or concerns related to your child’s toileting.
If a student has an accident involving urinating, he/she will be taken to the health room where an adult will coach the student, as needed, through changing out of his/her soiled clothing, using some wet wipes, and putting on clean clothing.
If a student has a bowel movement accident where he/she would need assistance wiping and cleaning up in order to maintain good hygiene and prevent health issues, the parent/guardian will be called to come to school and assist. Please note, students must be diarrhea-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school to ensure the health and safety of all students. If the accident was messy, but not a case of diarrhea, the student may return to class after the parent/guardian has helped him/her clean up.
We understand that being called to school in the middle of the day is an inconvenience, but there are several reasons why school personnel should have minimal interaction when assisting with toileting.
Assisting with toileting can invade a child's privacy and dignity. It’s important for children to develop independence in managing their own personal care.
Physical assistance during toileting could lead to misunderstandings or accusations, putting both the employee and the school at risk of liability.
Assisting with toileting can expose employees to potential health risks, such as the spread of germs or infections.
We believe in working closely with parents to support each child's development. If you have any concerns or if your child requires additional support with toileting, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help and will do our best to ensure your child feels comfortable and confident.
Thank you for your cooperation and for entrusting us with the care and education of your child. We look forward to a fantastic school year together.
