Dear Page Hilltop Families:

As we prepare for the final week of school preceding our February vacation break, we can reflect back on what was a very interesting week. We began with an unexpected trip to the high school for a couple of hours, followed by ever-changing weather patterns, our 100th day celebration, and many more acts of kindness!

Listed below are the "Kindness - Themed Spirit Days" for this upcoming week. We hope you children enjoy participating in each of them.

We also hope you share with us a photo of your family's kindness poster on display!

All PH students and staff are encouraged to have fun as we celebrate kindness themes during the week before vacation:

• MONDAY: Valentines Day - wear Red / White / Pink
• TUESDAY: Kindness Rocks Day - dress like a rock star
• WEDNESDAY: Hats on for Kindness Day - wear your favorite hat
• THURSDAY: Shine Bright with Kindness Day - wear bright-colored clothing
• FRIDAY: Dream of Kindness Day - wear PJs and comfy socks

Page Hilltop is looking for people interesting in providing coverage for classroom teachers and paraprofessionals (on an interim substitute basis). Interested applicants must submit a copy of this application. Applicants, if hired, will need to complete a CORI in the main office and also be fingerprinted. Mrs. Colello's Class: Mrs. Colello's 2nd graders read aloud to Mrs. Furman's kindergarten students on Wednesday, February 9th to celebrate kindness week. Great job to Mrs. Colello's students for being such great role models for our younger students.

Mrs. Scott's Class: Mrs. Scott's class spent their 100th day of school doing all kinds of activities that focused on the number 100. They wrote 100 words, stacked 100 cups, lined up 100 dominos, grouped cubes by 10's to make 100, group pattern blocks by 20's to make 100, and build structures with 100 magnet tiles. We are so grateful to have two school counselors at Page Hilltop. Our K-2 counselor is Ms. Jenny Ahlquist and our 3-5 counselor is Mrs. Rachel Savoie. Both Ms. Ahlquist and Mrs. Savoie are available to all our students no matter how big or small the issue may be. Throughout the school year, Ms. Ahlquist and Mrs. Savoie teach regular SEL lessons within the classrooms as well as host small group interventions around SEL. In recognition of National School Counselor Week, please take a moment to thank Ms. Ahlquist and Mrs. Savoie for all they do for our students. In addition, we are fortunate to have Mrs. Fusco and Mrs. Moran, school psychologist and district social worker who work frequently with the students and families of Page Hilltop. Mrs. Fusco and Mrs. Moran are also integral members of our school's counseling team.

Friday lunch periods are a busy time at Page Hilltop. During each of the grade level lunch periods, many of our students enjoy stopping by our school store and walk away smiling after they have made their purchases. To help students and parents plan for any future shopping trips, we are providing you with an inventory of items that are available for purchase. We are beginning to consider logistical plans for possible school events & activities, to be held this spring.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN PLAY A ROLE: Have a family discussion about traditional events that we have held in the past and may have missed out on these past couple of years. Which of these events do you consider to be most important to get back? Also, what other ideas might you have for new and different school events?

Send all of your ideas to Mr. Deppe via email or a written note.

The ASRSD has opted to participate in the new COVID testing option that provides families with 2 at-home COVID tests every other week. COVID tests will go home with students every other week and they should test at home on Tuesday afternoons. Parents/guardians should report positive cases only using the district reporting form.

This new testing option will be implemented on Tuesday, February 15th.

Looking for something beneficial that your child can work on at home to continue their learning? Students, in grades K-2, have access to Lexia and can log in at home if they are looking for something to work on to improve their literacy skills. All students K-5 can also work on math lessons on Zearn.

All parents of 3rd, 4th and 5th-grade students should have received a copy of the spring MCAS testing dates. We ask that you do your best to avoid scheduling any appointments on those dates. If, for any reason, you did not see this notice, please contact the school office at ext. 1401.
