FROM FOERSTER'S DESK- Updated
12 days to go, but who's counting?!?! I hope you are all as excited as I am to start this school year! It might be a good idea to start getting into that school routine now: going to bed a little earlier, getting up a little earlier, having clothes and school materials ready the night before. This way when August 15th rolls around everybody will be ready to rock and roll.
Please ensure you read through the information below thoroughly. If you didn't get a chance to read my Welcome Back Families letter, here you go. THANK YOU ALL for the support😀

FREE SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH- Updated!
A recent change in regulation means all Jeffco sites now qualify for CEP in the 2024-25 school year, Sierra. As part of the CEP program, Sierra will now serve breakfast in addition to lunch for students. This change will provide our students with greater access to healthy breakfast and lunch options. Thanks to the passage of Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) by Colorado voters, all students at Sierra have access to healthy and nutritious meals at no cost, regardless of income eligibility.
View this webpage to learn more about what meal service will look like for students in the 2024-25 school year.
Participation in breakfast is optional. If your student does choose to participate in breakfast, please walk them to the KDG cafeteria doors to enter the cafeteria. K-5th students will enter the cafeteria on their own, go immediately to the service line to retrieve their meal, and sit at a table to eat. Supervision will be provided (prek students, see info below).
Students in K-5th grades- breakfast hours 7:20-7:35 (new time)
Students will be dismissed to their classrooms at 7:35 (once their spots are clean)
Students in prek- breakfast hours 7:45-8:00
Prek students must be accompanied by an adult/family member to remain with them during breakfast.
At 8:00, adults and students will exit the cafeteria and go outside to their arrival door to sign students in for the day
Student Results from Last Year's End of Year Testing - New!
Parents and Guardians are able to check student end of year testing results online through Jeffco's Student Insights portal. Student Insights is a secure online tool that makes it easy to access information about a student’s district and state tests and their individual learning plans. It is a helpful way to check in on learning progress, review academic goals, and identify issues to talk about with teachers. Within Student Insights, you will be able to view end of year assessment results for ACCESS (English Language Learners), MAP (all students), Acadience/DIBELS (K-3), and results for students on individualized plans. CMAS results for students in grades 3 - 5 will be available in the Fall of the 24-25 school year.
