As we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on the powerful legacy of Dr. King, whose unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and love continues to inspire us all. His message of unity and compassion reminds us of the importance of treating each other with kindness and respect, and working together to build a stronger, more inclusive community.

🌟 In-Class Recital - Beginning This Week! 🌟
We’ve been working so hard, and we can't wait to see everyone's performances! 🎶 Be sure to complete the Rubric Google Form BEFORE your assigned recital class. You’ll also need to record your performance for self-evaluation (which will count as an additional summative grade). Don’t forget to bring a fully charged device and have your performance track ready to go. To earn the highest grades, be sure to review the rubric thoroughly!

🎤 Private Studio Recital - After School This Week 🎤
Private studio recitals will take place this week after school in the choir room. Be sure to arrive on time and prepared to perform!

🎶 UIL Solo Contest - This Saturday at CHS! 🎶
The UIL Solo Contest is this Saturday at Coppell High School. Please see the solo schedule below. Remember to arrive at least 20 minutes BEFORE your scheduled time—rooms may run ahead of schedule, and we want you to be ready!

🎶 CISD Tenor-Bass Choir Concert - January 28th 🎶
The CISD Tenor-Bass Choir Concert is on January 28th in the CHS Auditorium:

• Dress Rehearsal: 8:00-11:00 AM (school excused absence)
• Concert: 6:30 PM (students should arrive at 5:30 PM)

A Cappella had a productive week of clinic rehearsals, filled with expert coaching! On Monday, we had the privilege of working with Dr. Pence from UT Austin, who provided invaluable guidance to refine our vocal technique. On Friday, we continued building on those skills with Mrs. Zetterstrom, sharpening our performance techniques. Finally, on Saturday, Mr. Duarte and Dr. Wayman (from UT Arlington) wrapped up the week with an inspiring session that left us all energized and motivated. We can’t wait to take all we’ve learned into our upcoming TMEA performance.

SRF Monthly Quizzes

You will take a monthly SRF quiz at the end of every month. This will be a Performance Tasks

Grade. You only get 2 tries so be sure that your wifi connection is good and your audio sound is

on. You have the entire month to take the quiz. Every month’s quiz will be due on the LAST

FRIDAY of the month at 10PM. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

SRF Month Quiz Due dates:

SRF Practice Log

Each singer is expected to practice sight reading on SRF for 10 minutes per week (2 minutes

each day of the week) and 40 minutes per month. This will be a completion grade. SRF will

keep track of all your practice log data. We will give one Performance Tasks monthly SRF

Practice Log each month. Please be sure to practice SRF weekly. Each week will start on SUNDAY and end on SATURDAY.
