Fun Food Friday is coming! Students may purchase pizza, candy, sodas and more during their lunch period. It is our largest PTA fundraiser of the year and the kids really enjoy this day. We cannot do this event without you! If you are donating drinks, please have those delivered to the front office no later than Wednesday, February 19th so they can be cooled and ready to go.

Thank your bus driver this week with a card or a small token of appreciation. We are grateful for the men and women who transport over 25,000 Katy ISD students to and from school everyday.

8th Grade Parents and Guardians:

Please submit a picture of your child (toddler-kinder preferred) to be used at the 8th grade dance for the “Wall of Fame” using the form below.

"The "Wall of Fame" is a fun tradition at BDJH where the hallway between the cafeteria and gymnasium is lined with photos of the 8th grade class for the week leading to the 8th Grade Dance. We have the "now" photos from the yearbook but need your help with the "then" photos.

Now is a good time to review your student's privacy codes in the Home Access Center: if you select NO for your student, even if you submit a baby picture they will not be included in the Wall of Fame. A collage will be made for every student with a yearbook photo and will be distributed at the end of the dance.

In the summer of 2024, a group of boys formed a robotics team, "The Termanatrix," to delve into robotics, design engineering, and robot programming. The team includes Kunal Nagar, Rohit Nair, Sasivadan Adi, and Vikhyat Dundi, all sixth-grade students at BDJH. Since October 2024, they have competed in various VEX IQ Robotics competitions organized by REC foundation across the Houston area, securing several wins. These are -

1. Innovation award in Biscuit Bake Off Robotics competition which was held on 7th Dec 2024 in Katy, TX.

2. Excellence award in Bobcat Bots- Vex IQ Rapid Relay tournament which was held in League City Intermediate School, League City, TX on 18th Jan 2025.

3. Teamwork championship award and Excellence award in Hearts Abound VEX IQ Robotics Competition organized by Texas City ISD Robotics Center, Texas City on 01st Feb 2025.

Note that the Excellence award is the most prestigious award and is given to topmost team for demonstrating excellence in all aspects related to overall robot design, game strategy and overall tournament performance. With this, the team (Kunal Nagar, Rohit Nair, Sasivadan Adi, Vikhyat Dundi) have advanced to State level championship which will be held on 8th March at Beaumont,TX.
