πΏ Exciting Update: Nature-Based Advisory Board Meeting Success! π²
We're delighted to share the success of our inaugural Nature-Based Advisory Board Meeting, held May 9. It was a fantastic gathering with a diverse group of attendees, where representatives from Mt. Rainier National Park, Nisqually River Council, Department of Natural Resources, Hopkins Forestry, along with our esteemed Board Members, dedicated Teachers, Superintendent, Curriculum Director, and many other passionate individuals, came together to shape the future of our nature-based program at Columbia Crest.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the enthusiastic collaboration between our school and our professional partners. Together, we are not only envisioning but also actively crafting industry-level experiences for our students. These experiences will be intricately tied to our academic standards and deeply rooted in our nature-based initiative.
Our professional partners have graciously offered their expertise and resources to design immersive learning opportunities that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. These experiences will not only enrich our students' understanding of the natural world but also empower them with practical skills and insights that are invaluable for their future endeavors.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our professional partners for their support and dedication to this cause. Together, we are creating a transformative educational experience that will leave a lasting impact on our students' lives. Thank you for your collaboration and commitment to excellence! π
Paper Drive Totals
We had an astonishing amount of paper donated during our paper drive:
- 35 BOXES
- 7 REAMS
Thank you to all of our generous donors! 3rd Grade had the most donations and earned an ice cream party with our Cook, Mrs. Roberts and Principal Burslem.
NEW Morning Procedure
We would like to inform you of a small change in our school's morning routine. Beginning Monday, June 3 and moving forward for the 24-25 school year, the school doors will not be open until 7:25 am and 8:25am on Wednesdays. We kindly ask that parents/guardians remain with their children during this time, as the official start of the school day remains 7:30 am.
This adjustment is made with the safety and well-being of our students in mind. By ensuring that students are accompanied by a responsible adult until the school doors open, we can maintain a secure environment for all.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office.
π£ Gaga Ball Pit Proposal Gains Momentum! π£
We're buzzing with excitement as Cherilynn, Joyce, and Kamarah, backed by 47 enthusiastic student signatures, presented their compelling case for a Gaga Ball Pit on our school playground! Their dedication and passion were evident and it's clear they're committed to making our school experience even more enjoyable for students.
We're thrilled to announce that their proposal will be presented at the upcoming June 3 PTO meeting. With discussions around utilizing playground funds, we're one step closer to turning this dream into a reality! Stay tuned for further updates.
