Cherry Hill Literacy Event
Cherry Hill is ready for The One Book, One School event! Every student is receiving a copy of the book, The Scarecrow, "An emotionally impactful exploration of love and loneliness, this is an essential addition to any picture book collection.” —School Library Journal (starred review)
Bestselling author Beth Ferry (Stick and Stone) and the widely acclaimed Fan Brothers (The Night Gardener) present a gorgeous and poignant picture book about two unexpected friends and the special connection they share.
This tender and affectionate story reminds us of the comforting power of friendship and the joy of helping others—a tale that will inspire and delight children for generations to come.
A Literacy Event will take place on the same evenings as Parent Teacher conferences along with a Book Fair. Conferences are scheduled for Thursday November 7th and 14th. You and your child may come to the cafeteria and library before or after your child’s conference to enjoy some refreshments, games and to purchase books!
Information about the Literacy event should have come home with your student.
Thanksgiving Break
Don’t forget that students will be on Thanksgiving Break starting November 27th through November 29th. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2nd. Enjoy the time off with your family.

Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions (PBIS)
As our students get settled in and into their daily school routines. We want you to know that we are continually modeling, and acknowledging our students daily, weekly, and monthly for their Blue Lion Behaviors. These behaviors can be found on our Cherry Hill Matrix.
Principles of the Pride and Booster Sessions
Our students are living by our Principles of the Pride every day. We reinforce these rules and expectations in daily discussions, ensuring students feel confident in their behavior choices. After long breaks, we’ll hold special booster sessions to review our matrix and make returning to school a smooth experience for everyone.
Earning Points, Golden Tickets, and Celebrations
In the classroom, students are recognized with points for positive behaviors, which accumulate toward Golden Tickets. These Golden Tickets go up on our building-wide Li'L Lion Bulletin Board, and once we reach our collective goal, we celebrate! Recently, our students earned an exciting PJ and Pizza Party, where they enjoyed pizza and a delicious fruit pizza. We can’t wait to plan more celebrations as students continue to show great behavior.
Recognitions in the Hallways and Cafeteria
Our staff actively acknowledges students for using “bubbles in” and “walking feet” in the hallways. Each week, we celebrate various achievements:
- Golden Broom: Awarded to the cleanest classroom, encouraging students to take pride in their space.
- Golden Spoon: Given to the class with the best cafeteria manners.
- Mane Manners Table: Reserved for students who consistently use polite phrases like “please” and “thank you.”
Attendance Boost: Kick Off Those Shoes!
We love seeing our students every day and miss them when they’re not here! Each Friday, we recognize the classroom with the best attendance in each grade. We’re also rolling out a 5-week Monday attendance boost. Every student who attends each Monday can “kick off their shoes” and get comfortable as a reward!
But that’s not all! The grade level with the best attendance each week earns the chance to move an employee up our Rise and Shine, It’s Monday Time morning routine bulletin board. The first employee to reach the Cherry Hill Primary visual on the board will be silly-stringed by the winning grade level—an event we’re all looking forward to with excitement!
Thank you for your continued support in making Cherry Hill Primary a fantastic place for learning, growth, and fun. Here’s to a wonderful year of positive choices, celebrations, and attendance achievements!
