Valerius Kindergarten Orientation on August 12th

What an exciting time to soon have a kindergartener! We’re looking forward to meeting you whether it’s your first time as a parent of the Urbandale Community School District or if you’re returning.

Please SAVE THE DATE on August 12, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. for our Kindergarten Orientation at Valerius Elementary, which is when your child and you will visit the school. The address of Valerius is 3305 92nd St, Urbandale, IA 50322.

We’re using the Urbandale app (powered by ParentSquare) to share news, updates, and alerts. You do not need an invitation to activate your account. You can register by going to parentsquare.com/signin and entering your email or phone number within the “Register” section. You’ll need to use the same email or phone number that is in PowerSchool.

You’re welcome to review this doc that outlines how to set up your account based on various scenarios depending on roles. After you activate your account, download the UCSD app (search 'Urbandale' in the App Store or Google Play) and login on the app. If you have questions or get stuck

Pikmykid App for Dismissal Procedures

Linked HERE you will find a video explanation of our dismissal processes. It's important that everyone follow the expectations for safety and efficiency, and we hope the video explanation will be an easy way to learn them. Ongoing communication will be provided after we start the year as well.

PowerSchool to Pay Fees

Beginning in the 2023–24 school year, payment for books, materials, and bus transportation fees are paid via PowerSchool. We have created the following step-by-step instructions for this process.

24-25 Bus Form

To be on a bus route for the first day of school, UCSD needs to receive your completed bus request form no later than August 1st. Login to your Powerschool Parent Portal to access the Bus Request Form (located under Forms - menu left side).
