IE Venture Network
EVERY THURSDAY SINCE 2011. Pioneering Entrepreneurship.
Venture Network Area 31, June 6th @7pm
Venture Network, an informal weekly pitch slam, is an invaluable resource for early stage entrepreneurs. Venture Network is a forum in which you can engage with the entrepreneurial community, promote your startup, and have the opportunity to pitch before a panel of investors & entrepreneurs. Venture Network is unique in that it is a very informal gathering where startups can meet investors in a casual setting over beers and snacks and focus on what’s important: building relationships. Venture Network is a great way to perfect your pitch, get feedback on your product, and meet the local startup community.
Venture Network´s jury this week includes:
Emilio Ayanz, CREAS partner
Carla Tanas, Future Agro Challenge
Enrique Sainz, CANAAN Research & Investment
The three startups that will present their project in 7 minutes are:
SATAGRO
SatAgro is a start-up supporting individual farms in the implementation of satellite-informed precision agriculture through an intuitive and automated Internet service. We come from Poland where we monitor over 1% of all crops commercially. International availability of our service expands rapidly - now in 15 countries. We focus on high quality prescription maps for variable rate application of agrochemicals. These dosage instructions can be derived within seconds, and they are compatible with most of agro-machinery: spreaders and sprayers. Our team has a strong scientific background, with offices at the University of Warsaw and links to the University of Oxford. A large part of our recent R&D deals with water management and our offer in 2020 will expand onto that area.
Przemysław Żelazowski is a Founder and CEO of SatAgro (an automated satellite monitoring service for individual farms) and an assistant professor at the Centre of New Technologies (CeNT), University of Warsaw. His interests are interdisciplinary and focus on relations between plants (forests, crops) and their environment, at scales from a crop field to the whole Earth system. He also specialises in satellite remote sensing. In 2010 he defended a doctorate at the University of Oxford (Environmental Change Institute). He also holds an MSc degree in Environmental Change and Management (ECI, Oxford), and an Interdisciplinary MSc degree in Environmental Protection from the University of Warsaw. Before CeNT he worked for the Met Office Hadley Centre, FAO UN, and Centre for Space Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

NATURAL MACHINES
We believe in contributing to a healthy eating lifestyle. We believe eating healthy improves people physically, emotionally, and intellectually – and thus, quality of life is improved. We believe that people would be healthier if everybody eats freshly made wholesome meals and snacks. But, it needs to be easier and faster for everyone to create healthy foods made with fresh ingredients and we need to achieve significant food waste reduction in the food chain. So we are building a new generation kitchen appliance to help people do just that.
Emilio is a co–founder and CEO at Natural Machines, the makers of Foodini: the first 3D food printer + IoT (Internet of Things) kitchen appliance to contribute to a healthy eating lifestyle. Foodini makes all kinds of savory and sweet foods, using fresh, real ingredients. Emilio has proven experience in global markets and technology innovation with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the technology space. Named entrepreneur of the week by IEEE N3XT.

P4H
Precision Forhealth (P4H) is a spin-off company from IMDEA Food and the Autonoma University of Madrid (UAM), formally integrated into Technology-Based Companies (EBT) Program of Comunidad de Madrid and the Knowledge-Based Company (EBC) Program of the Autónoma University of Madrid. It was established in 2018 to market products and precision advice in nutrition and health, based on specific genetic analysis.
P4H markets actions and strategies for precision advice in the health area. P4H produces customized reports, based on genetic analysis, using validated chips, which predict, with a high degree of reliability, the response of individuals to different physiological situations such as obesity, aging and sports performance. In addition to being tests scientifically validated at a functional level and integrating genetic susceptibility with nutritional recommendations, what differentiates P4h products is the analysis of genetic variants associated to chronobiology, allowing to provide information about the biological clock performance and its association with nutritional and physiological responses.
