Principal's Weekly Update
April 29th-May 3rd
Dear Families,
This past week there was a lot more noise and activity throughout the campus. With the meetings of the Latin Club, Running Club, and homework help it was so nice to hear the busyness of extracurricular activities after the school day had ended. Below you will find more information about a board game club for students in grades 2-5 that will run for the remainder of the school year. The faculty, staff, and I continue to talk about new extracurriculars and clubs to start for this upcoming school year. We will be sure to update you as we add more opportunities for students.
As you know, all students at Holy Name are eligible for the free lunch program. Part of this program includes free breakfast. We have discussed ways to make this available to all students and are grateful to have Grandma Sharon and Mrs. Tapis offer to help us make it available for all students. Any students who would like to have breakfast before school starts should arrive to school between 7:40 and 7:50. Students can report directly to the cafeteria and will be able to enjoy breakfast during that time. Students arriving after 7:50 will need to report to the classrooms due to the time constraint for the start of the school day. No sign up is necessary and students may just drop in for breakfast. If you do not want your children to participate in this, please email me directly so that we are aware should they request a breakfast.
Our first visit for NEASC accreditation will take place this week. Every ten years, schools accredited by NEASC go through a self-study process to reflect on school improvement. A few members of our visit team will meet with our advisory board on Monday evening and then will meet with various administrators and staff members throughout the day on Tuesday. You will likely see our visitors at drop-off and pick-up. The entire visiting team will return in October for their second visit.
Thank you for all who joined us for the Chick-fil-A night on Thursday and paint night on Friday. It is always great to see everyone out supporting the school through these family events.
Don't forget to submit your pledges for the Walk-a-thon. Below is a form to submit pledges online.
Sincerely,
Megan dos Santos
Principal
