The Muk Weekly Update
November 4th, 2024
Les Misérables Production
For this year's fall musical, the MHS Theatre Department is presenting Les Miserables. Les Miserables follows Jean Valjean's life and highlights France's lower classes through multiple styles of song. Join us on November 7, 8, and 9 at 7:00 pm, and November 10 at 2:00 pm. Due to the large amount of talent at auditions, the directors created two separate casts; blue and gold. Thursday and Saturday are performed by the 'blue' cast, and Friday and Sunday are performed by the 'gold cast'. Both casts have worked hard to perfect their characters, and have different styles and decisions for the performance. We recommend going to at least one of each cast to experience the entirety of the MHS Theatre Dept! Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased through gfpac.booktix.com, or you can purchase them at the door. If you are looking for more updates on Les Miserables or want to see more of our productions in the future, follow the Mukwango Theatre Department on Instagram. We hope to see you there!

Set in 19th-century France, Les Misérables follows the journey of ex-convict Jean Valjean, who is determined to leave his criminal past behind and build a new life. After breaking parole, he is relentlessly pursued by Inspector Javert. Along the way, Valjean crosses paths with a cast of unforgettable characters, including the destitute Fantine and her daughter Cosette, as well as the idealistic Marius and the courageous street urchin Gavroche. Against the backdrop of a nation on the brink of revolution, the story weaves themes of redemption, love, sacrifice, and the fight for justice.
All Casts will remain the same for each show except the following:

Rayna Jellish as Madame Thenardier

Organization Tips
Backpack system: Instead of cramming everything into one folder, have a separate folder for each class. Many students lose work due to just misplacing it in their backpacks. Of course, having all your folders in your backpack will make it heavier, but you can do rotation. Every night before you go to bed, look at what classes you have the next day and put the supplies you need in your backpack. This will help you stay more organized and keep your backpack not too heavy.
Google Drive: Many students know that the documents they work on are saved in your Google Drive, but what most students don't know is that you can have a folder, organizing each class and the work in that class. If you log into your Google Drive, press the plus button, and create a new folder for each class, then you can go through and add your documents into each folder as needed.
