Our Mission: “To share the Good News of Jesus Christ, teach children, and assist parents in training children to be witnessing Christians and productive citizens.”
Weekly Devotion
“But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14
In a world obsessed with personal achievements, status, and recognition, Paul’s words in Galatians 6:14 cut through our noise with striking precision. He redirects our focus to the one thing truly worth boasting about: the cross of Jesus Christ. This isn’t a call to prideful self-promotion but a humble acknowledgment of the transformative power of Christ’s sacrifice.
The cross stands as the ultimate symbol of God’s love and grace. It’s where Jesus took on the weight of our sin, offering us forgiveness and a new identity. Paul reminds us that the cross redefines everything. It severs our attachment to the fleeting values of this world, wealth, fame, or approval, and anchors us in the eternal reality of God’s kingdom. When Paul says, “the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world,” he’s declaring freedom. The cross liberates us from chasing empty pursuits and invites us to live for Christ alone.
Reflect on what you’re tempted to boast in. Is it your accomplishments, relationships, or possessions? These things may have value, but they pale in comparison to the cross. Let the cross be your source of confidence and joy. It’s a reminder that you are loved, redeemed, and called to a purpose far greater than worldly applause.
In Christ,
Pastor Schneider
