The High School District 211 Board of Education met Thursday, July 18, 2024, in the Board Room of the G.A. McElroy Administration Center. This is a summary of key items acted on and reviewed.

The Board of Education approved the minutes from its June 20, 2024 meeting.
Acceptance of Donations
The Board formally accepted the donations of a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban from Kimberly Hall for use by the automotive classes at William Fremd High School; and $2,000 from the Cougar Feeder Girls Basketball for the girls basketball program at James B. Conant High School.
Resolution: Hazardous Transportation Areas
Per state law, school districts normally receive no state aid for transporting students who reside less than 1.5 miles from school. However, where vehicular traffic and roadway conditions are such that walking constitutes a serious safety hazard to students, the Illinois State Board of Education will grant partial reimbursement to districts for the cost of bus transportation.
Students living in two areas within 1.5 miles of James B. Conant High School, one area within 1.5 miles of Hoffman Estates High School, and one area within 1.5 miles of William Fremd High School must pass through locations previously designated as serious safety hazards due to vehicular traffic volume, posted speed limits and roadway conditions. This remains unchanged.
The Board approved the resolution identifying hazardous transportation as presented.
