Redmen Review

Despite a shortened week due to weather, the Sisseton HS FFA Chapter was still able to celebrate their growth and achievements this past week. Mrs. Schaefer and her senior officer team spearheaded dress up days, a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, a District 1 food drive, and of course, the much anticipated ice cream and slushie sale. FFA members also visited Westside Elementary and read to over 20 different classrooms during the week. Pictured at right are readers Taylor and Cash .

Upperclassmen are reminded that if they plan to take the ACT test in April, that they must be registered and have paid by Friday, February 28th. Most juniors were able to begin their registration during class with Mrs. Filipek, but need to finish and pay. Those with questions should contact Mrs. Filipek soon.

Things can get pretty competitive in Spanish class! Pictured above is Autim, desperate to finish her vocab practice before her teammates in a dice game where students have to share a pencil and race to finish first.

While not as competitive, Spanish II students, pictured at left, recently participated in a market where they had to assume the roles of buyers and vendors, while bartering for, describing, and purchasing goods--all in Spanish!

Stay caught up with your homework and grades by participating in Homework Help every Thursday in the SHS library from 3:20-5:00 pm. Come for a quiet space to work and extra support from teachers.

What is one of your favorite things about teaching? One of my favorite things about teaching is the idea that every day is a new day to learn, not just for my students but also for myself as a teacher.

What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria? Super Beefy Nachos

How do you spend your summer breaks? When I was still in the Philippines, I spent my summer breaks booking domestic flights for myself, family, and friends, and visiting different places. I also enjoy the privilege of just staying at home and doing whatever I want!

What is something interesting about yourself? I can't eat a meal without rice and chili (or at least something spicy).
