- To make everything work, the PTO accepts donations. These donations provide enrichment opportunities for our students. https://barrington220.revtrak.net/b220-pto-menu/pto-sh/sh-pto-donations/#/list

Did you talk about PERSEVERANCE last week? It is our school-wide focus in January!
Please print the following document to talk in your home about perseverance.
PerserveranciaA message from our school nurse
A big thank you to all the families who took part in the Dental Clinic! The clinic will be returning to Sunny Hill on Tuesday, February 11th to provide care for more students. If you'd like your child to be seen during this visit, please reach out to the school nurse, Mrs. Molina. Please note that spots are limited.
Kindergarten Round-Up is Monday, February 3!
Do you have a child entering kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year? All eligible children turning five years old before Sept. 1, 2025 need to enroll in kindergarten. We will hold an in-person information session on Monday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. Please complete this form by Feb. 1.
We also offer three optional kindergarten programs: Kindergarten Lab Program (K-Lab) at Barrington High School, the Spanish Dual Language Program, and the Chinese Immersion Program. Visit the Kindergarten Information page for program-specific Round-Up dates.
Save the Date: K-5 Family STEM Event
All K-5 students are invited to our Maker Madness Family STEM Event on Saturday, Feb. 8! We invite your entire family to come and enjoy self-paced activities for students in grades K-5. Activities include: making buttons with the Barrington Area Library, building the tallest paper towers, engineering a safe landing device, and using some of our STEM tools to design, build, and test a grabbing "claw" device. This event will be held at Prairie Campus. To maximize participation, we are hosting two sessions for this event:
- Session I: 1:00-2:30 PM
- Session II: 3:00-4:30 PM
A sign-up will go out to families after winter break and it will be first come first serve.
Mental Health Days
Public Act 102-0321 (Senate Bill 1577) allows students to take up to five mental or behavioral health days per year. A student is not required to provide a medical note and must be given the opportunity to make up any schoolwork missed during such absences. Students are not allowed to call themselves in; a parent must contact the school for the absence to be considered excused. Upon requesting a second mental health day, a Sunny Hill staff member will contact the student’s parent/guardian to discuss the appropriate support services needed for the student.
Barrington Area Library
Did you know you can get a Barrington Public Library card? While you are there, go to the Children’s Department to find a book that aligns with our Character Strong traits!
- March 1 – April 13: Perseverance, Honesty & Cooperation
- April 14 – May 30: Courage & Creativity
FREE neuropsychological evaluations to children and adolescents
FREE neuropsychological evaluations are available for students who need it, live in Kane County, and are income eligible. Neuropsychological evaluations can cost families thousands of dollars. These evaluations can provide valuable insights into a student’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning to better support their academic and personal success.
