Emergency Contacts 📣
Time to Update in ParentVue
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the emergency preparedness presentation by Cameron Smith, Director of School Safety for LBUSD. While emergency procedures are fresh in your mind, please take a moment to review your contacts and ensure that you have at least one on the island contact and an off the island contact, if the need arises. In the case of an emergency, we use printed out copies of the emergency cards and leave them in a binder in our emergency shipping container. We will be performing an updated printing on April 10th. Please be sure to have any edits or updates completed by then. Thank you!

With Gratitude...
Thank you to everyone who helped make the Bootlegger’s Ball – our Centennial Celebration a roaring success! We’re incredibly grateful to all the volunteers whose time and talents brought the event to life, to everyone who attended and added to the festive spirit, and to those who participated in the online, live and silent auctions—your generous bids directly support our school and students. We raised over $69,000 and couldn’t have done it without you!

🌍 The Wave Committee Book Spotlight: Earth Month & Autism Awareness Month 🌍
This April, we’re celebrating the beauty of our planet and embracing the diversity that makes our world so vibrant. In honor of Earth Month and Autism Awareness Month, this week’s book spotlight includes powerful stories that inspire environmental stewardship, resilience, and wonder.
📖 Picture Book: We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom
📖 Autism Awareness Pick: Broken Crayons Still Color by Toni Collier
Why we love it: This heartfelt story offers a gentle reminder that everyone has value, even in the midst of brokenness. With a message of hope and acceptance, it encourages compassion and seeing the beauty in all people, no matter their journey.
📖 Nonfiction/Nature Pick: The Wonder of Nature by Ben Hoare
Why we love it: Bursting with facts and dazzling illustrations, this book invites readers to explore the incredible diversity of the natural world. It's perfect for curious minds who love learning about animals, plants, and the planet we call home.
Let’s continue to celebrate stories that encourage us to care for one another — and for the Earth. 🌱💙
