Dear Dragon Families,


Welcome to the first issue of the Dragon Digest - Tales from the Lair. The Dragon Digest is a monthly newsletter. This is one method of communication I will utilize to keep you informed of upcoming events and disseminate pertinent information. As the school year progresses, the newsletter will grow. You can access the newsletter via a multitude of avenues. All current and previous issues can be found on our website at www.phoebehearst.org. A link will be sent out through email with the most current issue. Weekly updates will be sent previewing the upcoming week over phone and email.


This first newsletter is to provide you with some information that may be helpful in preparing for the upcoming school year. Please reach out to the office with any questions or concerns.

Kindergarten and New Student Ice Cream Social

KINDERGARTNERS!! Come meet your teacher, see your classroom and eat some ICE CREAM!!!

PTO is hosting an ice cream social for our kindergartners and new to Phoebe Hearst students and families.


Thursday, August 25th - 5:30 - 7:00pm.

First Day Coffee

You are invited to join us on the blacktop for the Principal's First Day Welcome and morning announcements.


Immediately after the principal's welcome and kids go into class please join the PTO outside the cafeteria to meet other families of Phoebe over coffee and snacks.

Class Lists and Covid Test Distribution

Class lists will be posted outside the office on Friday, August 26th at 3pm.


The district has provided Covid tests for each student to take prior to the first day of school. It is asked the tests are administered to your child the night before or the morning of the first day of school.


Come find out who is your child's teacher for the school year and pick up a Covid test on Friday, August 26th at 3pm.

The Phoebe Hearst PTO is a significant contributor to the success of the school. To learn more about the PTO you can email them at phoebeahearstpto@gmail.com. The first PTO General Meeting is Thursday, September 15th at 6pm in the Phoebe Hearst cafeteria. Additional PTO events this year are below.

The safety of our school’s families will always be one of our top priorities. We would like to reinforce the importance of parking lot safety during student drop-off and pick-up times. Everyone plays a part in keeping our children safe during these very busy periods where over 250 vehicles flow past our school’s front doors each morning and afternoon. Please review our safety guidelines below.
