Husky Tracks
October 4, 2024
Principal's Message
We had an exciting week at PRT with City XC kicking off the week on Monday. Of the six XC teams, 5 of the city champs were PRT huskies. We celebrated Tuesday morning with a pop of parade led by the drum line to celebrate the city champions! We are exciting for the city volleyball games this weekend and the city football games the week of Oct. 14. We are also getting excited for our band, orchestra and choir concerts as well as our fall musical Finding Nemo! All of our students have been working so hard and it fun to see it pay off in their competitions and performances!
It's hard to believe we are wrapping up Q1 this week. All students should check StudentVue this weekend and make sure everything has been turned in!
Have a wonderful weekend, Huskies!

VOLLEYBALL
The 8th grade A team had some tough competition against Frontier Trail. After trailing 14-3 in the first game, we ended up losing by 2 points knowing we would play a third game. The second game was won 25-17. In the third game to 15 points, our players fell short. Brecklyn led the team in assists while Reese was our kill leader in the A game. For the B game, this is the best we have seen them play. The communication was immaculate! Maiya led the team in assists while Ryanne led the team in aces. Our last game is tomorrow against Indian Trail.
7th grade volleyball came out victorious in both the A and B game at Frontier Trail. The A team front row attack was led by Kendall Macrorie with 1 kill, Mia Jarvis and Sammi Hallenback with 3 kills. Emma Clayton recorded a season high 7 kills. Marin Wagner was perfect from the serving line going 17 for 17. B team fought back in their second set coming away with the victory after being down 12 to 2. Kaylee Topping led the way from the serving line going 9 for 9 with 4 aces. Simone Dineros closed the game out with 8 straight perfect serves.
The 8th grade volleyball teams finished the season strong with wins against Indian Trail. The A team won in two games, with scores of 25-11 and 25-15. Standout performances from Liv Mervosh in the backrow and Tyler Neely with her swings. The B team wanted to play a little extra volleyball, winning a stunning third set 15-1. Ryanne Dickey's serving consistency partnered with Peighton Orel's swings helped propel the B team wins. The 8th grade team will play 8:00am Saturday at Mission Trail.
7th grade volleyball finished out their regular season in dominating fashion. A team won against Indian Trail in 2 sets. Kendall Macrorie was 19 for 20 in serves with 11 aces, Sienna Roberts served 3 straight aces, and Mia Jarvis served a perfect 9 serves with 4 aces. B team was led by Mallory Nelson who served 6 straight points with 3 aces. Ady Eager led the second set with 11 for 12 serving with 6 aces. Kelsey Murphy chipped in 2 perfect passes and 1 kill. B team finished the season 8 and 1 and A team finished undefeated. 7th grade will host the city tournament this Saturday at PRT. PRT will play either CST or OT in the semi finals around 9am. Come out and support your huskies as they play for a city championship!
FOOTBALL
Our 8th Grade Huskies fought hard in a tough 0-6 loss against California Trail. Big defensive stops from Landon Johnson and game-changing punts from Brady McElwain kept the team in the fight, helping to keep their city championship hopes alive.
The B Team came out on top with a 12-6 victory, powered by gutsy trick plays and hard-hitting defense from Kellan Stinnet and Graden Moyer, who made key defensive stops throughout the game.
Our 7th Grade Huskies continued their dominant run with a 34-6 victory yesterday! A key play came from Isaiah Goitom, whose clutch pick-6 shifted the momentum and gave the Huskies control of the game.
In the B Game, explosive offensive plays by Ledger and Miles led the team to a hard-fought 6-0 win.
Great job, Huskies! Let’s keep the winning streak alive!

Xello Lessons Coming up in October
6th grade students will be taking assessments to learn about the different ways in which we process information the beginning of October. You can soon ask your student if they are a tactile, visual, or auditory learner and ways in which they can study more effectively based upon their results! They will also take a Matchmaker survey and saved careers that were interesting to them. They will look at education, training, salaries, and schools that offer those degree programs.
7th grade students will be looking at their Matchmaker survey results next week. They will also be completing their personality style survey and reflecting upon careers that match their values and strengths.
8th graders completed their career matches and have saved careers that are interesting to them.
They started to explore pathways, education and training, and programs of study that fit their interests.
This will help them when looking into all the various 21st Century Academy Programs in Olathe and preparing for their high school pathway/Individual Plan of Study (IPS)
