Plant Your Very Own...
A moon garden glows at night. Why? Because it is made up of white flowers and silvery foliage that sparkle in the moonlight.
A few tips for a beautifully successful moon garden:
- Keep the area small - some like to plant in the shape of a crescent moon.
- Plant flowers with different shapes and textures.
- Make it a multi-sensory experience! Consider flowers with lovely scents and leaves that are soft to the touch.
Plants to consider:
- White gomphrena
- Angel's trumpets
- Climbing white hydrangeas
- Liatris
- Dusty Miller
- Flare White Lisianthus
- And of course, DAHLIAS! (tubers for purchase NOW!)

Flowers That Work Over Time
Looking to add some easy, edible flair to a meal or dessert? When planting veggies this season, add some edible flowers into the mix! Companion planting doesn't just make for a stunning veggie garden, it also promotes pollination and often deters pests.
- Agastache - From the mint family, decorate salad or boil into a tea
- Bee balm - Add these sweet and spicy flowers to salads and jellies
- Bachelor Buttons - These cucumber flavored flowers add a pop of color to any tzatziki dish
- Echinacea - Commonly a medicinal flower, but also jazzes up fruit salads and butter spreads
- Yarrow - Often a substitute for barley, can be used in soups and sauces
