Some important info & thoughts for the starting school year

Ben’s Bulletin: Weekly Insights & Updates
Happy Weekend Wildcats!
It's hard to believe we've already finished 2 1/2 weeks of school already. It has been fantastic to see all the positive things you are doing in your classroom and the ways you're engaging students!
As the leadership team is doing classroom walkthroughs, we're going to focus on your walk-in routine, how you engage students from the very moment they walk into class, and the classroom routines and procedures you have established so far.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for the "Fill the Calendar" fundraiser. PTO would love to see about 24 staff members step up and right now we have 9 staff signed up. The goal is to roll this out after Labor Day so that calendars can get bought during the month of September. Then before Fall Break we'd have an event during the school day where the students who have bought days on the calendars could come see get pie'd. Only staff whose calendars get completely bought out would get pie'd.
My goal is always to get the Wildcat Weekly out on Friday afternoons. Sorry for the delay these last two weeks! I hope you have a fantastic rest of your weekend and a great week!

MINGA SUPPORT!
Is your computer going to sleep when you're using Minga? Here's the fix:
1. Log out of your kiosk computer
2. On the log in screen, click the 'apps' icon on the bottom left of the chromebook. (This is the same as how kids log into CMAS)
3. One of the apps should be Minga. If you use it from this pathway your computer will not go into sleep mode!
PRIDE Focus for the Week
PRIDE AWARDS
This week is our first P.R.I.D.E. awards! Please work with your team to nominate 5 deserving students for the first PRIDE award of the year. If you're in electives, feel free to send your nomination to someone on the pod team to which you are connected.
**There are purple dog tags and SGMS stickers in each pod office**
Be sure to have one person take a picture of your awardees and send that picture to Julie Burkey by Friday morning. We put the students' pictures on display in the commons on the slide show!
Finally, add the 5 student names to the "Positives" tab on your team agenda!
Team Meeting Notes
Great job on the Lockdown! Thanks for checking hallways and keeping students quiet. A quick reminder: teachers should be the first thing the First Responders see when they enter a classroom, so please be sure to position yourself at the end of the students. Thank you!
Students took iReady tests in their math and language arts classes this week. If you're curious about a student's score, you can look up students or classes on the iReady web page.
