Help Wanted
Planter Volunteers plant trees and enjoy activities during the Planting Day Festival, Saturday, October 26, 10am - 3pm. (150 to 200 are needed)
- All ages (over 2 years) are welcome to plant!
- PLEASE SIGN UP for an hour or two – if everyone signs up we can better organize the day.
- Planters watch a demonstration and go with a Guide to a planting spot.
- All supplies are supplied.
Guide Volunteers (including students wanting community service hours) get some training beforehand and help the Planters during the planting. (35 to 40 are needed)
- Guides sign up for a two-hour spot (sometime between 7am and 4pm).
- Guides help set up the planting area and keep it safe.
- Guides help Planters during their planting.
- Guides help set up tents and tables and pack up at day's end.
Behind-the-Scenes Volunteers get some orientation beforehand and pitch in before, during, and/or after the Planting Day.
- Soil Mulching & Markup weekend before
- Prepping Plants 1 and 2 days before
- Planning art + science activities for the day
- Sign making, tree tagging, plant pick ups
- Setting up tents, tables, tools, and trees
- Registering the Volunteer Planters
- Supervising Art and Science Activities
- Documenting with pix, video, and drone

Planting a Forest for Watertown – was at the Watertown Free Public Library in the big meeting room on the first floor: Watertown Savings Bank Room.
• Folks dropped in, noon to 4 pm • Light Refreshments
• Information tables • Painting & Coloring for kids • Free Trees sign up
While all that was happening, off to the side gave two 30-minute Training sessions for Planting Day Guides 1pm and 3pm
It's all in preparation for the October 26 Planting Day Festival.
