Highlights on The Mesa
From the Principal's Office
Greetings Aztecs,
Congratulations to our boys basketball team as they are the CIF open division champions! This is the first time any of our teams have won an open division championship, which is the highest level that a high school team can compete at. Thank you to Coach Martin his staff, and of course, our amazing student athletes for making us so proud. Next up, they will be competing for a regional and state championship. Go Aztecs!
After what seemed like an eternal January, February went by with a blink of an eye. Spring break will be here in three weeks. We need to make sure we are staying on top of our academic goals as this part of the year goes by fast. Don’t forget to leverage your strengths and Aztec core values to ensure success.
Mission on the Mesa!

Non-Privilege List
At MOH, we implement a non-privilege list. The list is created and updated regularly based on the following:
- Discipline: Any students suspended from school will be added to the list and may roll over to the next grading period for excessive referrals to the Assistant Principal.
- Attendance: 3 full day unexcused absences/18 single period unexcused absences or 12 unexcused tardies.
Click on the link to access the list:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v46TN4iNSEfQIYnATVHMFMJ9AYOQVyo8a8jx7j9Vaio/edit?usp=sharing
Students on the list are not able to attend or buy tickets to extra curricular activities outside of the school days such as dances or athletic events.
How to Clear Your Name from the List:
For Attendance: Attend Saturday School!
Discipline: Maintain behavior reflecting our Aztec values. Students will be re-evaluated at the end of each grading period. Referrals to the Assistant Principal will impact removal from the non-privilege list. We strongly encourage you to attend Saturday School!

Library Message
Seniors! You are responsible for paying off fines for library, textbooks, and technology before you graduate. Do NOT wait until the end of May to make sure you are cleared from the library. Some of you owe things from middle school. You can return items to the MOH library even if it belongs to MOM or another school in our district. We can clear it off your record and return the items to the school it belongs to. If you owe money due to lost or damaged items, we can set up a payment plan for you so you can make monthly payments between now and May instead of trying to pay it all at once at the end of the year. Our library tech, Mr. Hernandez, sends out monthly notices on Jupiter if you owe something. Don't ignore those messages. Come see Ms. Siglin or Mr. Hernandez in the library if you have any questions or if you want to check and see if you owe anything. They are here to help you!
WeFund4u
We need your help in order to make YOUR Prom and last semester of your senior year the best yet! Prom is right around the corner and one way to make it less expensive for all of you is to raise money as a Senior Class. Your Senior Officers have been working hard to do so but we still have more work to do. We have started a WeFund4U page in order to help with the fundraising process but this is where you come in.
We need EACH of you to follow the instructions on the attachment in this email to set up your account and start sharing with your friends/family/acquaintances as well as sharing to social media platforms. Get the word out and people will donate. All donations are a tax deductible which many people and businesses are looking for at the end of the year.
• Go to www.wefund4u.com and create an account.
• After creating your account click on Join Fundraiser and input the code 35347632
• Then you will be able to start adding emails, phone numbers and sharing on your social media platforms to raise money towards your goal of $500. Please do this TODAY so we can get started. All donations are a tax deductible so many people will be looking to make donations before the end of the year for tax purposes.
We currenlty have raised $3,560 of our $8000 goal. Here is the link to your fundraising page. There are 29 days left to support.
Thank you Seniors.

AD Update 03/03
Congratulations to our Boys Basketball Team. On Friday night they won the CIF San Diego Section Open Division Championship at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside. This is the highest-level Championship ever won in our district in the sport of basketball. From there, they advance to State playoffs in the Open Division California bracket. This is considered the toughest High School State Tournament in the Nation! Congratulations on your accomplishment boys and best of luck in the State Tournament.
Thursday, March 6th in our New Gym, the district will be celebrating all of our First and Second team Winter Sports Athletes. Coaches have notified they’re players if they had been selected.
Spring Sports are underway. We have started games in Boys Volleyball, Boys Golf, Softball and Beach Volleyball. All of our other Spring sports will begin game play this week.
If you are interested in playing boys tennis, please contact Coach Martin. We are currently looking for a few more players to round out our team. No experience is required.
Athletes of the Week
Congratulations goes out to our @cfaoceanviewhills Aztec Athletes of the Week. These student-athletes have demonstrated supporting our school core values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience through their respective sport.
Datalia Sanchez- Girls Basketball @ladyaztecbasketball
Datalia is in her first season with the lady Aztec Varsity girls basketball team. She has grown so much over this first season to becoming such a well-rounded player. This was apparent as she had a career high 15-points in a road playoff game at Vincent Memorial in which the Aztecs won 56-49. Her coach says she has developed into a reliable starter for the Aztecs; huge compliment for a freshman.
Rey Gutierrez- Boys Basketball @mohaztecbasketball619
Rey is a glue guy for the Boys Basketball team. He does all the things that teams need to win. Works hard at every practice, pushes his teammates and has an engaging personality that his entire team loves. When needed, Rey has stepped up in big moments for the Aztecs helping them get to the Open Division Championship Game at Frontwave Arena this Friday night.
Great job. You make us all Proud to be Aztecs!!
