Dear GIS Families,

I hope this message finds you well and that you had a chance to enjoy some quality time with your loved ones during the recent break. I'm thankful I had the chance to disconnect, recharge, and be with my family. I am truly excited to start on the second half of the school year with all of you. It’s amazing how quickly time flies, and witnessing the kiddo's growth and learning during this time of the year is nothing short of magical.

January is a busy month filled with events. We have an early release day, a break for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and our very first school dance for 5th and 6th graders! To help you stay informed, I’ve updated the family calendar with all the essential details. You can view it here: Family Calendar.

I also invite you to mark your calendars for a special CIUUSD Board meeting on January 7, 2025, at 6 PM. During this meeting, we will discuss important restructuring plans for CIUUSD. I will share the meeting link, just as I did for our regular board meetings. We have our regular board meeting a week later at the same time.

In addition, this month at GIS, we are focusing on the character trait of honesty. Together, we will explore its significance and how various factors can influence our understanding of it. To support this journey, I’ve included some resources below that can help nurture the development of honesty in our kiddos.

As you complete your forms, please send them into Ms. Paula or I. We collect them for Mr. Mills, who is out and due back later this month. I will deliver all of the forms to him when he returns.
