Dear ORCA Families,
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Lunch on the Lawn event this past Friday! It was such a joy to see parents and students coming together and enjoying lunch as a school community.
As we look ahead, don’t forget to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conference Week, happening from Tuesday, September 24th through Friday, September 27th. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to chat about your child’s academic progress. If you haven't reserved your time slot please contact your child's teacher.
Also, please note that Fall Break will be from September 30th through October 11th, and classes will resume on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Parent-Teacher Conferences (Sept 24th - 27th)
We encourage all parents to attend the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences during the week of September 24th through 27th. This is a valuable opportunity to meet your child's teacher and discuss their academic progress, strengths, and any concerns you or the teacher might have. If you haven't signed up yet, please contact your child's teacher to schedule a time. Your involvement plays a key role in your child’s success!
September Perfect Attendance Incentive
Attention Students!
Great news! Students with perfect attendance in September will earn the chance to participate in our exciting “Splash and Dash” event on Monday, September 23rd! 🌟
Join us out in the field for a day of fun and excitement.
If you child is eligible please have them bring extra clothes to wear afterschool and a towel. Eligible students were informed in person on Friday, September 20th and given a flyer with their name on it.
Dismissal on Waudman Avenue
We have noticed that some students are crossing Waudman Avenue outside of the designated crosswalk areas and running to their vehicles. Ensuring the safety of your child is our top priority. Please encourage your child to use the crosswalks and avoid jaywalking, as it poses significant safety risks.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school environment safe.

We are excited to announce our Harvest Fest on Thursday, October 24th! To make it a sweet success, we need candy donations from our wonderful parents.
Please donate candy bags and drop them off at the front office by Wednesday, October 23rd.
Your support helps make this event special for all our students. Thank you!
Spelling Bee
We are excited to announce that your child’s/children’s school is having a spelling bee for students grades 4th through 6th. The Spelling Bee is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their spelling skills and compete in a friendly and encouraging environment. Participants will be tested on their ability to spell a variety of words; the event will include several rounds. The competition aims to foster a love of language and promote academic excellence. The site spelling bees will take place between October 14th and October 23rd. The winner of each school site will go on to the district wide spelling bee (Stockton 11/7 and Lodi 11/8). Exciting Learning Opportunity for K-6 Students During Fall Intersession!
We are thrilled to offer an enriching educational program for students in grades TK-6 during the upcoming Fall Intersession. This program is designed to provide a fun and engaging learning experience outside of the regular school year, featuring a variety of activities that promote both academic growth and personal development.

Do you have a child learning English as a second language? Join the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) and be a voice for your child and others in our community!
As a DELAC member, you will:
- Provide valuable input on programs and services for English learners.
- Help improve resources to support your child's education.
- Stay informed about important updates and decisions that affect English learners.
Meetings are only 5 times a year, making it easy to participate and make a positive impact without a large time commitment.
