Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) for Nov. 13-17
Back to a School ROUTINE!
Here's hoping everyone has had a wonderful week off. This week off was a great time to relax and enjoy the slower pace of life. The warmer fall temperatures allowed the children to get outside while being off. As we settle back into the school routine this week, we look forward to continuing the engaging learning, growth, and development in the students we have witnessed this school year.
Some special events are happening this week that we will be focusing on these themes during our morning prayers:
November 13-19, 2023 - Anti-Bullying Week
November 12-18, 2023 - Métis Week
This week is the School Council meeting at 6:15 pm and the Friends of Legal School Society (FOLSS) immediately following on Wednesday; all Parents are welcome!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday morning.
Have a great week, everyone,
Mrs. Kleparchuk, Principal
Mrs. Crowston, Vice Principal

Managing Inappropriate Language
Many of us struggle to find the proper response when children use inappropriate language. Although it may be startling or uncomfortable, it is our responsibility to help them understand the impact of their words while trying to not make them feel embarrassed and ashamed.
Oftentimes children use inappropriate language by repeating what they have learned from others. Having an appropriate conversation with children about the word’s meaning and its appropriateness can increase the child’s understanding and prevent them from using that language again.
Here are some tips for when you encounter a child using inappropriate language.

GSACRD Community Engagement Initiative
The primary focus of this engagement is to gather feedback and insights from our parents and school communities on programming and grade configurations. We believe that your valuable input can help us enhance the educational experience for our students and ensure that our schools align with the evolving needs and aspirations of our community.
To participate in this initiative, participants will have the following options:
- Online Engagement Platform: Families can share their thoughts, suggestions, and ideas through our online engagement platform.
- Workshops (Online and In-Person): We will be conducting workshops, both online and in person, to facilitate in-depth discussions and collaborative brainstorming sessions.
Online - Nov. 14, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Morinville - Nov. 23, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. MCHS (9506 100 Ave., Morinville).
**Legal - Nov. 29, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. Legal School (5122 46 St, Legal).
Feedback gathered during this engagement will guide our administrative decisions, support the optimization of school facilities, and help position our Division strategically for future funding opportunities. Moreover, it will instill confidence in our current and prospective families, reaffirming our commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and listening to feedback. Learn more here.
