Important Open House Information
Greeting Salk Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year at Salk Middle School! We are excited to have you all back in the building and are eager to partner with you for an engaging and successful school year. Please review the following important information regarding the SMS Open House:
- Salk Middle School Open House will be on Thursday, August 29th.
- Please arrive anytime between 4 pm - 7 pm to walk your schedule, practice your locker combo, and meet your teachers to learn about class specific information and supports.
- All Salk families and students are invited to attend.
- Student Photos: Students will be able to get their picture taken in the gym from our school photographer. You do not need to worry about picture packets or ordering prior to getting them taken. A link will be sent out a few weeks after pictures for your preview and ordering instructions. All students will need their picture taken for their student ids.
- Student Schedules: Schedules will be available for viewing in Campus Parent/Student Portal the morning of Thursday, August 29th. Please click here for directions on how to access Campus Portal.
- 6th grade homeroom rosters will be posted on the glass by the front doors. If needed, please go to your homeroom for a copy of your schedule.
- 7th & 8th graders will not have printed schedules at open house. Please ensure that you bring your schedule to the open house or a device to view it on. ISD 728 issued Chromebooks will have access.
- Chromebooks for NEW ISD 728 students: Students who are new to the district please pick up your Chromebook in the SMS Media Center.
- Health Office: SMS Health Office staff will be available during Open House. If your student has medications they take during school hours, whether over the counter, prescription, or emergency meds, please make sure proper forms are completed and submitted to the SMS Health Office. All action plan health forms can be found on the District Health Services webpage. If you have any questions about immunizations status for your student, please come see the SMS Health Office.
