Literacy Month - Sign Planners Nightly
This year, one of our school’s academic goals is to improve in Reading. To help achieve this, we’re asking all students to read for 20 minutes each school day. As an exciting incentive for the month of October, we’re challenging our advisory classes to track their reading. Each student who reads 20 minutes a night will earn 1 point for their class. At the end of the month, the top three advisory classes in each grade will win a pizza party!
Here’s how you can support your student during this challenge:
Monitor: Encourage your student to use their planner to record learning objectives and assignments.
Encourage: Remind them to utilize the organizational tools provided to stay on track.
Support: Ensure your student comes prepared every day with their binder and planner
Your involvement makes a significant difference in your student’s success. Thank you for your support, and let’s make this October a month of great reading!
We’re thrilled to share that our Coffee fundraiser is happening right now, running from October to November! Your support last year was incredible, allowing us to fund end-of-year field trips, purchase supplies for teachers, upgrade STEM equipment, and treat our teachers during appreciation week. We’re eager to build on that success this year!
Important Dates:
- Order Forms Distributed: Wednesday, October 2nd (through advisory classes)
- Order Deadline: Wednesday, October 31st
- Delivery Date: Friday, November 22nd
Volunteers Needed: We’ll need help sorting orders on November 22nd. If you're interested, please email us at hoodrivermiddleschoolpto@gmail.com to be added to our volunteer list.
Stay Connected: If you'd like to receive updates about volunteering opportunities throughout the year, please fill out the PTO Contact List Registration. Signing up does not obligate you to volunteer but helps us reach out easily! PTO CONTACT LIST REGISTRATION
Support Us: If coffee and tea aren’t your thing, you can still support our students and teachers through direct donations. Our PTO is now a registered non-profit, and we can issue donation receipts upon request. DONATE!
Thank you for your support! Here’s to a successful fundraiser!
