March 2025 Parent Newsletter
There's no place like SGE!
February is always a special month at Sea Gate! Our students shared the gift of kindness with our school community this year as they each placed a special heart on our kindness tree to share why they LOVE Sea Gate. Our 5th Annual I Love SGE Day was something special. Students entered our building in SGE swag, music was playing, our xylophone club was entertaining, bubbles were going, the Spirit Club was cheering, and the horns were honking! We love seeing our parents representing SGE in the car rider line and walker drop off...it is a very special community and we thank you all for being a part of it.
March is a busy month! Please make sure to have students to school on time, all day , every day! We are all gearing up for the final Progress Monitoring of the year and instruction is taking place every minute of the day! We hope you all have a safe and relaxing Spring Break. We are looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about your time away.
Happy Spring, Seahorses,
Ms. Kirby
Lost and Found:
If you have joined your student for lunch, you may have noticed our Lost and Found Mound at the back of the cafeteria. Those cold spells in January added to our ever-growing pile of jackets, sweatshirts, and sweaters. Please have your child check the lost and found in the cafeteria before the month is up! We also encourage you to come in and see if any items belong in your household. Simply, bring your US issued ID to check in at our front office any time during the school day and you can look. All items not picked up by Friday, March 28th will be donated.
Attendance Matters

SGE's 5th Annual Kindness Month was a huge success! We had an action-packed month filled with all things KIND: classroom guidance lessons, kindness breathing techniques, many random acts of kindness, our Friendship & Kindness Clubs selling “Keychains for Kindness” to benefit Laces of Love, celebrating our Students of the Month, decorating coffee sleeves for a local Starbucks, and more. Extra love and kindness filled our halls as we watched our Kindness Thermometer rise. We completed our Great SGE Kindness Challenge by completing 1,000s of Random Acts of Kindness, and we raised close to $1,000 for Laces of Love! We ended the month showing our love for our school with our 5th Annual "I Love SGE" Day. Special thanks to our Spirit Club, Sammy the Seahorse, and our Marimba Club for spreading the SGE love. One thing is for certain, SGE has a culture of kindness! Our March focus is honesty. It's important for our children to know that honesty means far more than "not telling a lie." It is being truthful in what we say and do. Being honest will help our seahorses become a trustworthy person and using their conscience to guide their decision making. In our March Guidance Lesson, seahorses will learn a good strategy when it comes to honesty: THINK. Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?
