March 6, 2024
From the Principal's Desk...
Parents and Guardians,
Next Tuesday, March 12th, we will hold our annual Fine Arts Night. Our 1st-3rd grade students will start with a short concert in the church and then everyone will be invited down to the cafeteria to view art pieces from all three grade levels. The doors will open at 6:30 and seating is first come first serve. It is going to be a great night that you don’t want to miss.
This is a friendly reminder that registration fees will be applied through FACTs on Friday, March 8th. If a family previously turned in cash or a check for their registration fee, that has already been applied to your FACTs account and you will not be charged on Friday. We have also removed any family that has not turned in their registration form for the 2024-25 school year. The registration fee does go up to $300 for any returning family, so if you intend to return, please send in your registration paper along with the registration fee before Friday. If you have any questions, please call the school office, and we will get you to the correct person.
Lastly, after consulting with the Archdiocese and Fr. Pete, we have decided to CLOSE SCHOOL on Monday, April 8, 2024. The reason for the closure is due to safety concerns and expected high traffic in the area. Leading up to the eclipse, teachers will be talking with the students about the eclipse, how it can affect our eyes, why it occurs, and other topics related to current science standards to ensure they are educated on the topic.
Hope you all have a great week!
Sincerely,
Courtney Weinheimer

Pie To The Face Incentive - Shopping Cent$
Ever wanted to show love to one of your favorite
teachers or staff member by throwing a pie to their face??
FOR ONE LUCKY FAMILY, THIS COULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE!
To make this happen is as easy as pie! If the school earns $1,600 PROFIT (not sales) on Shopping Cent$ orders over the next 4 turn-in dates, one lucky family will get to throw a pie in the face of a teacher or staff member, in front of the entire school! For every order you turn in, your family is entered in a drawing to win the incentive. The more times you turn in an order, the better your odds to win!
Turn-in dates will be March 7th and 21st and April 11th and 25th.
Please see attached flier below for more incentive details. Order forms were sent home on Wednesday in the Blue Jay Folders. An order form is also attached below for your convenience.
Conferences
Family conferences will be held on Thursday, March 14th from 3:30-7:00 pm. All conferences will be scheduled with your children's homeroom teacher. Students in all grades are welcome to attend.
If your child is doing well and you are satisfied with their progress, you are NOT required to schedule a conference. If any teachers has concerns, they will specifically request a conference.
Paper forms were due on March 6. However, you may still sign up for a conference by following the link below and filling out the Google form.
Re-Registration Fee Increases to $300 After March 8th
Reminder that after March 8th, the $225 re-registration fee will increase to $300. Payments can be made by sending cash or check (payable to St. John the Baptist School) to the school office or by logging into your FACTS account to make the payment.
***If you are enrolled in FACTS auto-pay and you have not paid your re-registration fee by March 8th, $225 will automatically be deducted from your bank account/credit card.

Athletic Boosters
Concession Scheduler Needed
The athletic boosters are creating a new position within our organization, “Concession Scheduler”. We are looking for someone to fill this role and would entail the following:
• Create a signup genius with slots based on the game schedules (Fall and Spring sports only for outdoor concession) to staff the concession
• Send emails to families with active sports participants to sign up for slots
• Ensure we have coverage for all available slots and adjust schedule based on rainouts
• Create a schedule of openers/closers to make sure someone is present to unlock at the day’s start of games and to make sure everything is closed.
The concession stand provides an important revenue stream to support our various programs and to keep costs down. If you have any questions prior to committing, please reach out to me directly and I would be happy to provide more information. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
