Fall is finally here! 😊


I want to express my gratitude to all our CGUHSD families for their support and understanding as we dealt with the heat in the first eight weeks of the school year. We are continuously working to enhance the effectiveness of our school chillers and upgrade the air conditioning on as many buses as our budget allows, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for our students.


The schools have started our focus in our PLCs on how we respond when students do not master the essential academic standards presented in class by offering extra academic support time in the 2.5 classes. The students have also completed their initial benchmark assessment on IXL to give us a baseline of their current levels of academic performance in reading and math. There will be a mid-year benchmark in January and a final benchmark in May to assess growth in reading and math for the year.


Your involvement in your children's academic journey is crucial. I urge you to have regular conversations with them about their classes and IXL. Student self-assessment is a key factor in academic success, as it instills a sense of ownership in their learning and outcomes. Remember, our mission is for ALL students to graduate high school, graduate college, and/or be career ready.


We have many exciting athletic, band, and other school events going on. We encourage you to come out and see the students' talent.
