There's Snow in the Forecast — Update FlashAlert Now!

With possible snow in the coming week, now is a great time to sign up for FlashAlert if you haven't already. FlashAlert is the system that we use to notify you of school closures, delays, and other similar events. The system is routinely pruned of untouched accounts so even if you had previously subscribed, you should verify your subscriptions at https://www.flashalert.net/login.html. Please note that this is not a West Linn-Wilsonville system and we can provide only limited help.

Families should consider getting the free FlashAlert Messenger app from the Apple AppStore or Google PlayStore. Announcements will also be displayed on the local TV channels. During an event, we will send a ListServ message as well as post an announcement on the district homepage.

Weather updates will also be posted on the district's Facebook and Twitter pages in the event of a school closure or delay.

The district will provide regular ListServ emails with important project updates, information about community meetings for major projects, and more. District, First Student Bus Company Launch FirstView Bus Tracking App

In partnership with First Student, the district is launching FirstView, a bus tracking, and parent communication app for your smartphone or desktop. The app can provide additional information for parents and students, including the general location and direction of individual buses as well as timestamps for school arrivals and departures.

The app also allows students and parents to set up push or email notifications that alert when a bus close. While the district is launching this app, please understand that it is a new system for the district and for First Student. It uses sophisticated technology that depends on many components to function. Parent feedback is helpful as First Student continues to fine-tune and improve this resource.

Learn About the District's Dual Language Program — Registration Open Through January 31

We invite you to join us for informational meetings on January 14 and 16 to learn about the WLWV Dual Language Program that begins in kindergarten.

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District offers a Spanish-English Dual Language program in two of its primary schools: Trillium Creek Primary School in West Linn and Lowrie Primary School in Wilsonville.

Registration for the Dual Language Program is an online Application of Interest Form. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. on January 31, 2020. (If you need assistance completing the online registration form, please contact your school office secretary). If there is more interest than space available, a lottery will take place on February 7.

Upcoming Information Meeting Times:

• Lowrie Primary School - January 14th - 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

• Trillium Creek Primary School - January 16th - 6:30-8:00 p.m.
