A Note from the Principal
Welcome back Audubon Families!
We are excited for the new school year as we continue to strive for excellence. As we begin the 24-25 school year, we need to take time to reflect on the 23-24 school year. That reflection is a FANTASTIC one – together we have much to celebrate. All of the hard work from our families, our teachers, our support staff, and especially our students is reflected in our school grade. Audubon is an “A” school!! This is a huge accomplishment, and we are very excited with this recognition. As we get started this school year, we will reflect, and dig into the data to set new goals to support all students. We value your support and partnership throughout this journey to ensure a successful year for all. Each month our school newsletter will be posted on our website to provide you with school-wide information and upcoming events. Information about ways to get involved in PTO, School Advisory Committee, and volunteering will have links and information posted monthly. Please make sure to keep your contact information up to date so you can stay connected. Our theme this year is “Making Mighty Moves” and we know with your support, together we can continue to ensure continued success for each student. We look forward to working with you and seeing your child grow throughout this school year.

School Advisory Council (SAC)
Audubon Community,
We are looking for community members to participate on our School Advisory Council (SAC).
The Goals and Purpose of the School Advisory Committee are:

- To act as an advisory body to the principal.
- To provide a liaison between the school, school organizations, and the neighborhood community.
- To positively impact student achievement by empowering the community and school to be involved in shared decision making.
- To impart an understanding of the responsibilities of the family and of parental obligation to the educational process.

Morning Mile
In the morning between 7:30 and 7:45 students have 3 options. They may go to breakfast, go to Morning Mile, or go outside their classrooms. Students who choose Morning Mile, but still want to eat breakfast, may go to Morning Mile first and then head to breakfast at 7:45. Students who choose to stay outside their classroom door need to go directly to breakfast when they arrive on campus.
For a student to participate in Morning Mile, they must have a permission slip. Coach Sutherland has been handing them out during morning mile time and asking students to bring them back the next day. Check with your child to see if they have a slip in their backpack!

The Reef has expansive knowledge of Brevard Counties waterways; everything from water depths, boating needs, dock essentials, and seawalls. This knowledge is crucial to making the right home choice for boat owners and waterfront property lovers. Our team has lived on several different waterways and boated all of them personally throughout the years. If your dream is to live on the water, call The Reef for a personal boat tour. 321-465-5000

Thank You!
Audubon was ridiculously spoiled starting out the year. Lighthouse Christian Church served all teachers and staff members a delicious breakfast with all the fixins', including an omelette bar! Then over the weekend, before school started, they brought over 175 bags of mulch, tons of volunteers, and redid all of our garden areas to make sure it was safe and inviting before students returned!
During PrePlanning, Sea Ray Boats (located off of Sea Ray Dr. right here on the Island), brought a whole "Boat Load" of supplies for our students. They held a competition to see which department donated the most supplies. We are so thankful for the amazing community we are surrounded with!
Ink Therapy Collective also did a school supply drive. They not only donated to any local children who needed supplies, but also brought all additional supplies to Audubon for our students! Thank you so much!
Domino's donated lunch to our staff members and our PTO graciously added in some yummy salads and drinks!
We always want to remember A+ Thrift Store as well. They donate a check to all Merritt Island Schools every semester and we are so grateful for their donations!
