PES...Make Your Mark 2023-24
Dear PES Families,
As we wrap up the year, our students have had some wonderful opportunities to celebrate. Our 3rd and 4th graders performed their hearts out during last Tuesday's Spring Concert. Their enthusiasm for the songs was contagious. This year our students took on more responsibilities for the show by selecting songs to be performed, and coordinating a student band, The Four Red Dragons, to accompany the vocals. All of our 3rd and 4th graders put in countless hours preparing for the show and their efforts resulted in one of the best shows ever at PES. We are so very proud of our students.
In 2nd grade, Miss Williams' students designed Motivation Monsters and displayed their drawings on the walls around the classroom. These monsters helped the students remember to stay focused on their goals throughout the end of the year. What they didn't know is that Miss Williams, in partnership with PES parent and LTHS Art Teacher, Ms. Milovanovic, shared these drawings with the high school art students who then recreated each drawing into a clay sculpture. Today, our students were surprised with their 3D Motivation Monsters. The excitement in the room was palpable.
One of our goals at PES is to create opportunities for students to have memory making events. We want to provide opportunities for students at PES that they might not have at other schools. This week's Spring Concert and art collaboration, are just two examples of what makes PES a special school for students.
Once again, thank you for helping make Pleasantdale Elementary a great place for learning!
For our students,
Kathleen Tomei
Principal
