Choir and Guitar: Last week, we were treated to wonderful concerts by both our Choir and Guitar students. Their performances were outstanding.
Theatre: This Thursday night, our Theatre students take the stage. We can’t wait to see their hard work pay off in what’s sure to be an amazing show!
Orchestra: Mark your calendars for November 2nd, when our talented Orchestra will perform at the Día de los Muertos celebration. You won’t want to miss it!
In addition to these amazing accomplishments, next week we’re excited to share our improvements in campus attendance compared to last year and celebrate the increase in the number of students on the All A Honor Roll and A-B Honor Roll. Mustangs should be proud every day as they display their best attributes of Integrity, Wisdom, and Pride.
We’re so proud of our students and can’t wait to see what they achieve next. Thank you to all the coaches, directors, and teachers who support our Mustangs. Go, O. Henry!

Orchestra News
A tradition for 35 years, our Fall Festival is a family-friendly community event. Each year, we gather hundreds Austin ISD orchestra students from many Austin High School feeder schools, as well as other area schools for a Halloween/Dia de Los Muertos themed concert and carnival. In addition to performances by the Austin high School Orchestras, the event features performances by the orchestras from Mathews Elementary as well as Covington, O. Henry, and Small Middle Schools, plus Ann Richards, Kealing, Lamar, and Lively Middle Schools. For the students, it’s a great opportunity to showcase their work and connect with fellow orchestra students. For the families and community, it’s a fun and busy fall festival!
Carnival attractions include music, games, food and beverages, a bounce house and dunk tank, as well as a silent auction that features interesting items to bid on.
While the carnival fun continues outside from 1:30pm to 6:30pm, orchestra performances take place inside the AISD Performing Arts Center beginning at 2:30 and continue until about 8:00pm. Please see the attached schedule for details.
Theatre- Save the Date
In addition to performing at O. Henry, there will also be an additional show.
The show will be performed at the AISD Performing Arts Center on Oct 29th at 5:30.

Attendance Reminders/Updates
**90% rule what does it mean?**
**90% rule what does it mean?**
If a student drops below 90% in a course, an "NC" is entered instead of a grade. The grade may be passing – but the student did not attend at least 90% of the time. Please contact your student’s Assistant Principal to see what corrective steps must be taken.
Notices are going out to families this week whose students are dropping below 90% attendance and we will be required to attend "Attendance Matters" workshop:
