2023-2024 School Year
Thank you parents, guardians, students and staff for a great school year! The school is open for two more weeks and will reopen 3 weeks before the first week of school. Have a great summer!
From the JHS Office
Any student needing a computer for summer courses: Computers will be ready on the week of June 17 and can be picked up at the JHS main office from 7am -1pm. Students must turn in their school-issued devices on the last day of school. It is not necessary to have a school-issued device to do summer work, you need just a computer with internet connectivity.

AR Summer Reading
Summer Reading! Students will be able to take AR tests over the summer! To do this, they will access their Clever accounts under the Students tab of the JMS website. These points will go toward JMS AR Point Clubs, but they will not be factored into students quarterly goals. We hope to see lots of summer reading!
President Award Certificates
Many students received a President's Award for Academic Achievement certificate at the end of the school year. Here is an explanation of the two different levels:
Gold - Honor Roll each grading period and an ABOVE Proficiency ILEARN score on Math and/or ELA.
Silver - Honor Roll each grading period OR Honor Roll 9 of 11 and a ABOVE Proficiency ILEARN score on Math and/or ELA.
English 9 Honors Summer Work
From Mrs. Keusch (English 9 Honors Teacher):
I wanted to let you guys know that the summer work for English 9 Honors is ready to go! The summer work can be picked up in the JHS front office. Each student will need to pick up a copy of The Alchemist and a packet of information to go with it that explains the assignments. When picking up the book and packet, please let parents, siblings, etc. know that they will need to sign off on the class roster when picking up work for incoming freshmen as proof that someone did pick up the work.
After May 23rd, the front office at JHS will honor summer work hours. Parents can reach the front office at 812.482.6050 if they want to ask about summer hours and availability.
If someone has a question, please feel free to email: bkeusch@gjcs.k12.in.us
