ECHS September 2024 Newsletter
Hello ECHS Students and Parents,
As both our new and returning students look ahead to classes and events to start the year at ECHS and PCC, I hope you will remember that you are part of a unique and rare opportunity—one that allows you to get a head start on your college education while still in high school. This program is designed to expand your opportunities and prepare you for the future in ways that few students experience. Please remember that every day is a chance to learn something new, to challenge yourself, and to take one step closer to your dreams. Also, please remember that you are not alone on this journey. Your instructors, counselors, and the entire ECHS program staff are here to support you. If you have questions, need help, or just want to talk about your goals, don’t hesitate to reach out to your counselor, they are here to support you.
The newsletter below contains important information for our Juniors and Seniors on upcoming required events and important start of the year information. New students, please know that we will be reviewing many of these items in greater detail during your Orientation and your first CG class.
Thank you everyone and we look forward to seeing you all on Senior Day and New Student Orientation, and as I already mentioned, please reach out to your counselor if you have any questions or need any support.
Sincerely,
Michael Crandall

ECHS Photo and ID Event
ECHS will host a photo event at PCC Rock Creek and Sylvania on September 20th, from 11:00-3:00 on each campus. Room Locations are:
- Rock Creek: Building 2, Room 258
- Sylvania: TCB Building, Room 213
During this event Dorian Studios will be on hand to take photos and produce ECHS ID Cards. The ID cards will:
- include our school name and the cross enrolled high school name.
- The cards can be used to receive the usual benefits student ID cards provide at home high schools including access to after school activities like sporting events at your home high school.
Parents can also purchase student photo packages for this event and order forms will be distributed to students during Senior Day and New Student Orientation.
We recommend that students receive an ECHS ID card at this event if they do not already have a home high school card.
Each year ECHS students have the opportunity to also receive a PCC ID and we will have more information on how to obtain those during the New Student Orientation.
Seniors, Summer Coursework
As you know ECHS does not cover tuition for any classes during the Summer Term. From time-to-time some students choose to take a class over the summer and pay the tuition and fees on their own.
If you took a class at PCC over the summer please know that those grades and credits are not reported to ECHS and are not automatically added to your High School Transcript.
If you would like those credits and grades added to your high school transcript, after you have completed the course and your grades are posted, please email our program secretary, Amy Frewing, amy_frewing@beaverton.k12.or.us and include your name, PCC G# and the course information.
Chromebook Check Out
Students attending courses at PCC will need a laptop to be successful. Students can use their own personal laptops while attending PCC if that is preferred. But, please know that it is not necessary for any family to purchase a laptop prior to Fall classes; BSD/ECHS provides a chromebook for any student who would like one.
Juniors: For students joining ECHS from a private school or from TTSD or SHSD we will have an opportunity to check out Chromebooks during your New Student Orientation.
Seniors: If you need a chromebook, there will be an opportunity to check out out during Senior Day.
Any family who has not checked out a Chromebook in the past will need to complete this form and bring it to check-out Google Apps permission Form .
All families are encouraged to consider this program Damage Loss Protection Plan (optional but highly encouraged).
Reminder: Charges, Fees and Tuition
PCC will move tuition and fees from student accounts to the ECHS's account shortly. Once the tuition is cleared, anything left showing on your account would be any additional fees or charges that ECHS does not cover, like a parking pass, parking ticket, or additional credits beyond 16.
ECHS has limited access to student account information, so if there are any questions about charges on your account please first contact the PCC Business Office (971.722.8888 option3) or student.accounts@pcc.edu.
