2024-2025 Bus Information
See the attachments below for parent expectations for school bus safety and bus rider expectations!
First Day of School Information
1) Please make sure your child knows their teachers' name.
2) Please label all items - Backpack, Lunch Box, Water Bottle, etc with the student's name as well as the teacher's name if possible.
3) Please pack easy to open items for your child's lunch. Some items can even be pre-opened/repackaged at home to make it easier. The more they can do on their own, the less handling by others that will occur.
4) Make sure your child knows how they are getting home at the end of the day. We will have this information in the office but it is helpful for the students to also know.
Arrival Information
Please do not drop your child off at school before 7:30. Adults are not able to supervise students until after 7:30. This includes being at the crosswalk by the school.
Walkers: Please make sure your child waits for the adult at crosswalks to stop the cars and help the students across safely.
Car Riders:
- Children will exit their cars on the right side of the vehicle (closest to the school building).
- DO NOT get out of the car, staff will be available to help students out of the car as needed. If you need to get out of your car please park in the parking lot.
- Cars are REQUIRED to pull up as far as possible. Pay attention to the adults directing the cars; cars are not permitted to stop directly in front of the doors.
Dismissal Information
Dismissal begins at 2:35
Car Riders: Students will be waiting in the front of the building with a teacher by grade level. Please do not get out of your car when in the car rider lane. We will make sure you child gets to your car safely. Pay close attention to when staff ask you to stop. This is to ensure that busses are able to exit as well as keeps the walker zone open.
Walkers: Walkers will exit out of the south and north side of the building. Just like last year there will be an A and B group depending on if they exit out of the south or north side of the building.
Group A: All students that have to cross over Millstone to get home will come out the front door and be walked to the crosswalk and across the street. If you are going to meet them, this is where you would wait.
Group B: All other students will exit out the North Side gym door and be walked down to the sidewalk to the area right by the bus entrance. If you are going to meet them this is where you would wait.
Bus Riders: Buses will exit Highland Park at 2:45
*Please be patient the first week of school. Car rider lines tend to take longer and sometimes the buses are not able to leave at exactly 3:45. If you have any questions call the front office 986-2250.
Lunch Visitors
This year we will welcome back lunch visitors to the building. A few things to keep in mind.
- No lunch visitors for the first 2 weeks of school.
- No lunch visitors on Fridays due to late start.
Get Your Chromebook Ready for School
In order to prepare for the start of school, LSR-7 wants to ensure your Chromebook is working and ready to be used. Here are some tips and procedures if the Chromebook is not working:
- Charge and power on the device.
- If you still can not power on your Chromebook OR if there is something else wrong (broken screen, charger broken, etc.) please go to the following link where you can see troubleshooting tips and submit a help desk ticket if needed: https://connect2learn.lsr7.org/support/ When submitting a ticket, be sure to log in using your student login and password.
- If you submit a help desk ticket, a technician will contact you with further instructions.
- If you are unable to submit a help desk ticket, please drop your Chromebook and charger off at your school. Be sure to include a note inside the device that outlines the issue.
- Once repaired, a technician will contact you regarding device pickup.
Thank you,
