Open Conferences
Dear Families,
Open Conferences will occur on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 1:30 pm in the Media Center. Please come to meet all of your student's teachers and get an update on grades and behavior. Also, counselors and administrators will be available to discuss your student's progress!
TITLE I DOCUMENTS THE PLAN / THE PROMISE
This Plan/Promise describes how the school and families will build and develop a partnership to help students achieve the challenging State and district academic standards.
Students participating in the Title I program and their families agree that this Plan/Promise outlines how the entire school staff, the students, and their families will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement at GIVE Center West.
The Plan/The Promise is available for you on MyPaymentsPlus and the school website under the Title I Section.
Printed copies are available in the Parent Center.
Thank you.
Resources from Our Counselors
Welcome to 2025! As we embark on a new year, we all have a clean slate to start anew. Many people make new year resolutions or set new goals at the beginning of the year, and for good reason – we all have a whole year ahead of us to make changes. Likewise, students at GIVE Center West are entering 2nd semester and have a clean slate. They have the entire semester to make changes and plans for success.
Using SMART goals means you can clarify your ideas, focus your efforts, use your time and resources productively, and increase your chances of achieving those changes to achieve your objectives.
SMART is an acronym that can be used as a guide to goal setting. To make sure your goals are clear and reachable, each one should be:
Specific. Your goal should be clear and specific, otherwise, you won’t be able to focus your efforts or feel truly motivated to achieve it.
Measurable. It’s important to have measurable goals so you can track your progress and stay motivated. Assessing progress helps you stay focused, meet your deadlines, and feel the excitement of getting closer to achieving your goal.
Achievable. Your goal also needs to be realistic and attainable to be successful. It should stretch your abilities but remain possible.
Relevant. This is about ensuring that your goal matters to you and that it also aligns with other relevant goals.
Time-bound. Every goal needs a target date so you have a deadline to focus on and something to work toward. This part of the SMART goal criteria helps to prevent everyday tasks from taking priority over your longer-term goals.
Looking ahead:
In January, students at GIVE Center West will begin lessons on career readiness through B.R.I.D.G.E. Bill activities
