Cougar Pride is Alive at Coelho
This month Coelho Middle School recognized 37 students at its monthly Cougar Pride Breakfast for their hard work and dedication to their academics, along with caring for others. These students were nominated by their teachers for consistently demonstrating the school's core values of respect, responsibility, and kindness. This breakfast serves as a reminder to all students that hard work and compassion do not go unnoticed, and that their efforts are truly appreciated. Congratulations to all the students who were recognized this month - your dedication and commitment are an inspiration to us all!
Time for Giving
Giving Tree
It's hard to believe that the December Holiday will be in less than one month. In the spirit of gratitude and community, students and visitors at Coelho Middle School will see our Coelho Giving Tree in the main entrance. The tree contains gift tags for items requested by a few families in our immediate community who have demonstrated an additional need for assistance this holiday season and accepted our support. We understand that current economic times have put a strain on everyone. If your means allow and you choose to do so, please take a tag indicating the donation needed and return the unwrapped item, with the tag, to the main office prior to December 16th.
If you are a family in need of assistance, and have not already spoken to Mrs. Weeman or Mrs. Mann, our adjustment counselors, please contact the school as soon as possible and ask to speak with them directly.
St. Theresa's Canned Food Drive
The Food Drive will run from November 1st thru December 4th , and students are encouraged to bring in items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other non-perishable food items. Last year, Coelho Middle School was able to exceed their goal and collect over 2,500 items for those in need in our community.
This partnership with St. Theresa's Food Pantry not only helps those who are struggling to put food on the table, but it also teaches students the importance of giving back and helping others in need. The Food Drive is a great way for students to come together as a community and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
King Arthur's Bake for Good Lesson
On Wednesday November 20th, Coelho Middle School grade 5 students took part in the King Arthur's Bake for Good lesson.
During the lesson, students learned about the importance of giving back to their community and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. They also learned how to bake bread from scratch using a simple recipe provided by King Arthur Flour. The students were each given a baking kit to take home and apply what they had learned into practice. Sorry for the mess......

A special thank you to Mrs. Kelly Crawford for organizing this great experience
