Townsend Jr. High
Ranger Pride 2024 - 2025
What is PBIS?
PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students. Rather than a prescribed program, PBIS provides systems for schools to design, implement, and evaluate effective school-wide, classroom, non-classroom, and student specific discipline plans. PBIS includes school-wide procedures and processes intended for:
- ALL students, ALL staff and in ALL settings
- Non-classroom settings within the school environment
- Individual classrooms and teachers, and
- Individual student supports for the estimated 3-7% of students who present the most challenging behaviors.
Platinum Recognition
Townsend Jr. High earned the highest recognition that a school can get for the 2023-2024 school year. Please give the staff and students a round of applause for their hard work in receiving PLATINUM Recognition!
Discipline Flow Chart
At Townsend Jr. High we are committed to supporting students with Positive Behavior Choices. In the event that students choose not to follow the Schoolwide Expectations, staff members will use the Behavior Management Flowchart to determine how to best address the negative behaviors.
The chart below is being shared with the Townsend community in an effort to be transparent about the most commonly addressed discipline incidents from the first Trimester. Please continue to encourage your student to follow the schoolwide expectations. Please refer to the Parent Student Handbook on the Townsend website for more information. https://www.chino.k12.ca.us/Domain/2629
Townsend Tickets
Townsend Tickets are earned by students for following the schoolwide expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Students may use their tickets to purchase items at the Snack Shack on Tuesdays and Thursdays, enter drawings for prizes, and make purchases at schoolwide events such as the Fall Festival.
Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI)
The PBIS Team just completed our first Internal TFI for the 2024 - 2025 school year. The results are shown below as compared to previous years.
The safety and overall well-being of our students remains a priority for the Chino Valley Unified School District, and our staff wants to ensure all students feel empowered to seek help when they need it. Whether dealing with sexual harassment, bullying, or a personal struggle, students can find help through the countless support resources available for free. Students can also reach out to supportive staff ready to provide immediate assistance! If you click on "District One Stop Shop" it will take you to the district webpage where students and families can click on one of four links to select the support they need.
