Animal Science: Slicing, Dicing, and Learning!
Students in Animal Science class have begun the semester by learning all the outs--and ins--of dissection. Last week they used chicken wings to better understand connective tissue and begin practicing their scalpel skills. This week they advanced to beef hearts and fetal pigs. All this hard work, led by Mrs. Schaefer, helps students better understand the parts of the body and what they need to do to keep an organism working the way it should.
Theatre Students Tackle Behind the Scenes Skills
Theatre II students are diving deeper into the different realms of what it takes to put a production together. Pictured are Andrew, Eiza, Keya, Haedyn, and Kerwin, testing out their makeup skills. With Ms. Predergast's guidance, they were able to achieve some spooky results! Next, they will be checking out the lighting and sound booth to better understand the technical side of theatre productions.
Nurse's Note
The cold and flu season is upon us. It is best to stay home if you are experiencing any flu or cold symptoms.
Some guidelines to help know when to stay home:
Fever (greater than 100 degrees) - you need to be fever free for at least 24 hours without medicine to return to school
Vomiting---Diarrhea
Chills or body aches--Frequent congested cough
Good hygiene habits to help to prevent the spread:
Wash hands! (20 seconds)
Avoid touching nose, mouth or eyes
Covering cough/sneezes
Avoiding close contact with others who are sick
