Dear DMS Community,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! As I begin my 35th year in public education, I am ever thankful for the newness each school year brings. No two school years are the same and that is part of what makes my job so enjoyable. I look forward to beginning and building strong relationships with staff, students and parents.

Our ongoing mission of One Heart/One Mind means working together to put others before self so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. We recognize that we are not all the same. In fact, we are different and we celebrate those differences, but we operate as ONE.

Last year and continuing this year, our staff has been challenged to apply the principle, “you reap what you sow.” We must be mindful that we will never reap success and overcome difficulties if we don’t first sow hard work, preparation, and perseverance. We are making every effort to ensure our students begin this year with this same principle, and we invite you to join with us so that each student has the opportunity for success and the experience to see weaknesses turned to strengths.

We are excited to begin the school year and are looking forward to partnering with you to provide the best education possible. In order to begin the year on a positive note, please read all the information in the Smore regarding office hours, school information, registration, etc.

STUDENT SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE. Due to our changing student enrollment numbers, we want to make everyone aware that schedule changes may be necessary within the first 2-3 weeks of school to maintain contractual limits and balance classes. We will do everything we can to minimize the impact on your child's schedule.

• KEY: Clothing shall be sufficient to conceal undergarments and buttocks. No underwear, undergarments, or clothing that is comparable to undergarments (e.g, bathing suits that resemble the same coverage of an undergarment) may be visible at any time. Clothing may not be see-through or mesh if underwear is visible underneath.
• Clothing free from images displaying or promoting drugs, alcohol, violent images.
  
• Shoes must be worn (w/heel strap). No flip flops, slides, or slippers.
• All students will review TVUSD dress code expectations during the Common Sense Assembly on Friday, 8-16-24.
• Guidelines are also listed in Student Handbooks.
• Please see TVUSD AR 5132 for guidelines.
• Students will be asked to change if not adhering to dress code guidelines. Repeated offenses will result in discipline consequences.

The webstore will open again Thursday, August 8 at 3PM. All orders made on the webstore at this time will be delivered to students by August 23.

The ASB Webstore has changed! New Accounts Needed as of July 1st.

*Last day to preorder PE Clothes & DMS Gear for pick up at Registration is Sunday at 11PM.

Here are the details:

1. This is the link that the parents will use July 1st to start ordering for the 24/25 school year: https://tvusdasb.graystep.com
2. EVERY parent will need to create a new Web Store account. Instructions below on how to create an account.
3. The link is already active to create the new account (sale items won't be available until July 1st).
4. If parents already created an account for their high schooler, add your DMS student, under ADD FAMILY.

DMS Headphone/Earbuds: All earbuds must be wired and able to plug into a chromebook. Bluetooth devices and non-wired earbuds/airpods will be confiscated! If students do not have wired headphones/earbuds, a set will be provided in the classroom as required by the teacher.

We currently do not have an active PTSA for ‘24-’25. Our officers completed their term in June 2024.
