Students are channeling their inner mad scientist to create human/animal hybrids in Photoshop

Once the humanimal is created, they are doing some creative writing about the backstory of this creature.

Students in Mrs. Holbrook's room worked on data collection and translating the figures into visual graphs

Students make yarn, weave, and crochet blankets in Mrs. Mahans' class!

Students in Mrs. Matheny’s 7/8 Art Foundations studied techniques to represent space in their artwork. They’re designs to show each of these techniques were put together to create a 3D installation.

One student made his own ink out of black walnuts - and created a painting using his own ink! He is now using that same homemade ink to dye his own yarn colors in Mrs. Mahan's class.

Students also are busy creating their own unique imaginary worlds on final watercolor paper. Students studied techniques to represent space in their artwork in order to incorporate a foreground, middleground and background when telling their own story.

Clubs made their return to WMS this past Friday. Students will get to participate in self selected clubs the last Friday of every month throughout the school year. Our aim is to build community by getting kids together through common interests!

Students in sixth grade Humanities were transported into a pirate themed world where they explored books, literary exercises, and other pirate themed activities.
