Unity Day Celebration
In recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month, Haleʻiwa Elementary celebrated Unity Day on October 16 with the theme "Aloha in Action." Students and staff were encouraged to wear orange and sport Unity Day bracelets to promote kindness, acceptance, and unity within our school community. It was a wonderful day filled with positivity and teamwork, as we stood together against bullying.
Thank you to everyone for participating and for your continued support in fostering a safe and inclusive environment at Haleʻiwa Elementary!

This year, Haleʻiwa Elementary School had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Mililani Complex's annual Cross Country Event at Mililani Middle School! Our 3rd through 5th grade girls and boys represented our school with enthusiasm and determination. While we didn’t place in the events, we are incredibly proud of all our student athletes who ran their hearts out. Promoting Attendance and Traffic Safety!
On October 29, 2024, our Haleʻiwa Elementary School students participated in a vibrant sign-waving campaign aimed at promoting school attendance and raising awareness about traffic safety. With enthusiasm and energy, our students held colorful signs and waved to the Haleiwa community, sharing an important message about the value of being present in school and staying safe on the roads.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Curriculum Coordinator, Mrs. Yamakawa, and our dedicated School Counselors, Mrs. Yonamine, and Mrs. Dolan, for their unwavering support and guidance. We would also like to extend our gratitude to our wonderful partners from the Honolulu Police Department. Your collaboration made this event a resounding success!
Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to encourage our students to attend school and prioritize safety!
Attendance Week
On the morning of Tuesday, October 29th, our honor guards turned out in force for our sign waving event. They held signs highlighting the importance of driving safely and attendance. To focus our student's attention and spirit on Regular School Attendance (which is defined as 90% school attendance) in a fun way, we are celebrating ATTENDANCE WEEK from November 18th to 22nd. Each day we are asking our students to dress up with a specific attendance theme. There will be a friendly competition based on the highest classroom participation each day with an ice pop reward. In addition, we are asking our families to get into the attendance spirit by dressing up as a family and sending in pictures to our school at haleiwaschool@haleiwa.k12.hi.us. We appreciate you getting your keiki to school because Attendance Starts at Home.
