PANTHER PROGRESS
June 2024 Issue 11
Message from our administrators
Lincoln Family –
With only a few days left of school (2-hour early dismissal on Friday, June 7th), we can't thank you enough for your constant collaboration and communication throughout this past school year. Though our school's motto is "Win small. Win often. All day. Every day," it may have felt challenging some days to find a "small win." A “big win” has been that your child has learned a lot over these last 180 days! As we go into this summer, it will be a time for families to relax, reconnect, rejuvenate, and hopefully hold onto the learning that occurred over this past school year. Did you know that if students don’t read or work on their counting and math facts (adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division – pending the age group) over the summertime, those 74 days can lead to what's called the "summer slide?" Without continued learning, it can often take up to October of the following school year to get back to the same performance level that your child achieved by June. So, we need your help! Please visit the library, practice your counting and math facts and utilize the summer choice board that was distributed at the Panther Party so we can start next school year ready to learn. Don't forget that iReady is available until the last week of July. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, August 21st for our first day of school and be on the lookout for our annual “Meet and Greet with Eats and Beats” prior to school starting so that your child can meet their teacher and see their new classroom.
Much Lincoln Love,
Eric Rhodes - Principal
Mary Beth Smith - Assistant Principal

As a reminder, chronically absent students are those that have missed 10% or more of the school year. Our scores with the state of Maryland are heavily impacted by our attendance rates. Please send your child(ren) to school as regularly as possible and contact our commUNITY school coordinator at Crosby.Blair@fcps.org with any attendance questions or concerns.

This website has multiple resources for students and families. It also has videotaped lessons we use with students and parent videos that explain our emotional regulation program.
