Principal's Notes
Happy Fall!
On behalf of the DES staff, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Fall! Can you believe it is already October? The next semester will be filled with exciting learning opportunities and fun events sure to make the 2024/2025 school year memorable. We are committed to providing the best possible environment for our students and will do our best to make sure the Dade Elementary School community is proud of our school and is a partner in our shared commitment to student success.
Our student handbook has been added to our school website. Look for the banner and click.
Honor Roll & Honorable Mention for the 1st 9 Weeks!
Our DES Students excel in so many ways. We would like to give a shout out to students who earned all A's and A/B Honor Roll.
DES and Dade County Schools Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Janet Brooks!
I could not be prouder of our DES Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Janet Brooks, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor. Her professionalism, commitment, and faith in God are gifts to her students, her colleagues, & our school. She is the ideal candidate to represent Dade Elementary School and all that we should strive to be.
She has taught first grade for 23 years. She comes from a family of teachers, and although becoming a teacher was not her original plan, the Lord was working on her. She can't imagine doing anything else. She loves teaching first grade and especially helping children discover the love of reading. She is married to Patrick, and has two children. Jill is a 19 year old college student and Owen is a 16 year old junior in high school. She enjoys baking, gardening, reading, and painting. However, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. Please help me in congratulating DES’ Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Janet Brooks.
DES will visit the Pumpkin Patch
Thank you to Dade County Commissioners for inviting DES to the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Patch on Tuesday, October 22nd. Each student will receive a free pumpkin.
