USC - BEYOND THE BELL STUDY
Dear parents,
Lexington-Richland School District Five is partnering with the University of South Carolina to offer the Beyond the Bell Study to K-4th grade students. Your child has the chance to attend a FREE summer camp and/or afterschool program provided by the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission OR receive gift card incentives (earn over $400 in gift cards).
This is an exciting opportunity for you and your child to help us understand the role summer day camps and afterschool programs play in promoting your child’s health!

STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK
February 21, 2025
It gives me great pleasure to nominate Ms. Waretha Butler for the Harbison Shield for the week. When we are short staffed, she will put her gloves on and help where needed. She always gives me an inspirational word for the day. We love to joke and laugh with each other as well. She has a very good heart because she is always thinking about others and how she can assist them. I know she is very passionate about her work and the joy she gets with working with students at Harbison West.

Thank you to Dale Whitson (retired, former assistant principal at Nursery Road Elementary), Mike Satterfield (current D5 school board member), Will Reeves (retired, Special Education teacher from Chapin High) and Molly Gregory. We appreciate their time to help our students grow!
