No Costumes on Halloween
Please remember that students are not allowed to wear costumes on Halloween. If you have any questions about this policy, please reach out to Dr. Early.
PSAT for Park Hill South Students
On October 29th, Park Hill South/LEAD students who signed up for the PSAT will take this test at Park Hill South.
If you signed your student up, do not bring them to LEAD that morning. If they are a driver, they need to drive to South. Students were emailed information about testing from Mr. Milner at South. Please make sure your student eats a good breakfast that morning.
They can bring a calculator, a snack, and some water with them to the test. Dr. Eisenmenger met with the LEAD testers this week to help them do the pre-work required for the PSAT. If your student needs a bus ride back to LEAD after testing, there will be a bus in the front circle drive that will leave around 11:30.
If you have any questions about the PSAT, please email: eisenmengers@parkhill.k12.mo.us.
Change to Parent Advisory Schedule/Parent Advisory Activities
It may still be a few months away, but we wanted to let you know now that the February 25th Parent Advisory meeting has been changed from virtual to in-person. Dr. Kimbrel will be joining us that evening for an important update. Mark your calendars now and we hope to see you there!
Also, a member of our parent advisory created this great visual to show what activities the team helps with. Please consider coming to our next meeting at LEAD on November 18 at 6:00 pm.
NHS Blood Drive Results
On behalf of LEAD NHS: Thank you for your support at our fall blood drive.
New High School SEL Curriculum
In July, the Park Hill Board of Education approved the High School Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum. This is a new curriculum that supplements the K-12 school counseling curriculum. You can review this curriculum (along with all secondary Park Hill curricula), on the Park Hill District website here (the high school SEL curriculum can be found under the Counseling tab). We will deliver the first lesson of this curriculum during the week of October 28.
The K-12 SEL curriculum has six lessons per year per grade level and are taught during Homeroom. In 9th grade, the curriculum focuses on learning what SEL skills are and how they are helpful to meeting one’s goals. Managing emotions and building healthy relationships are the focus of the sophomore curriculum. Juniors begin looking ahead to assess how their current choices affect their future. The senior curriculum focuses on how they can contribute to their families and communities as they leave high school.
Social/emotional knowledge and skills equip students with tools they need to regulate their emotions, navigate social situations, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. These skills also facilitate learning in other areas because their brains are best able to retain and apply information and skills when applying what they have learned about social and emotional learning.
If you have questions about the SEL curriculum, feel free to reach out to [name of administrator contact] or your student’s counselor.

PBIS Donations Once Again Needed/Fall Fundraiser
Our PBIS school store is running very low on snacks for kids. We would love any snacks you are willing to donate.
Also, the PBIS Team at LEAD is going to have a Fall Fundraiser!
The money raised will help fund items to for our school store. We are partnering with Crumbl Cookie to help raise money to purchase items for our store.
On October 28th, students, staff, and guardians will be emailed a link. Clicking on this link will allow you to purchase a Crumble cookie.
This link will remain active until 3:00 pm, October 29th. Each cookie will cost $6.00 and be boxed and delivered to students at school on October 31st.
Students can buy cookies for a friend too. If students want to buy their cookies using cash, they can do so during lunch on October 28th and October 29th. If you have any questions about this fundraiser, please email eisenmengers@parkhill.k12.mo.us.
