Welcoming ALL young adults, ages 18 to 39, single or married, with kids or without kids, Catholic or not. Stay (St. Theodore’s Adult Young-ministry) is a young adult ministry rooted in the Catholic faith based out of St. Theodore's Church in Gates. The game night will include pizza, board games, video games, and time to get to know one another. Young adults interested in attending the game night, need to RSVP by contacting Molly Wescott at 585-300-8219. The deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, January 8. The Holy Father has announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. The Jubilee Year began in Rome on the vigil of the Solemnity of the Lord’s Nativity Christmas (December 24, 2024), and in the dioceses throughout the world on the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph (December 29, 2024). Jubilee 2025 will conclude in dioceses throughout the world on the Feast of the Holy Family (December 28, 2025) and in Rome on the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord (January 6, 2026). It’s New Year’s resolutions time — but instead of making empty promises, why not look at WHAT you’d like to promise instead. How might you wish to live? Do you really look deep inside yourself to find what your deepest desires are? Ignatius of Loyola would think that “following your heart” is an amazingly stupid idea. He would insist on placing those desires of your heart at the service of your brain. So a simple young adult gathering could be organized for people who would like to explore these ideas in a prayerful setting. St. Catherine of Siena (Mendon)

This spring the communities of Transfiguration and St. Catherine of Siena in Pittsford/Mendon will be running the Alpha series. Alpha is a place to meet new people and explore the Christian faith together. Each session includes a meal, a video, and time in conversation with a small group. The Alpha videos were filmed all around the world, and feature interviews with world-famous leaders and inspiring stories, unpacking the basics of the Christian faith in an updated and engaging way. Childcare will be provided for parents who would like to experience Alpha together. Alpha is a great place to invite a friend who is curious about faith.

Young adults are invited to a Cursillo weekend this year! Cursillo (pronounced cur-see-you) means "little course" in the fundamental teachings of Jesus; as it is lived by Christians. It is Spanish since it was founded in Spain by Eduardo Bonnin. The goal of the Cursillo Movement is to make Christ the prime influence in today’s society. The three day experience begins on Thursday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon. Cursillo is conducted by a team of priests, deacons religious, and laypersons (including young adults!). The young adult ministry from St. Benedict Parish in Bloomfield/Canandaigua has a monthly Young Adult Coffee After Mass! Coffee After Mass follows the 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. It is a great way to find community with other young adults and dive deeper into what was heard at Mass.
