One Archdiocese, One Book, One Saint: Embracing the Legacy of Carlo Acutis
Following Catholic Schools Week, the Archdiocese announced the "One Archdiocese - One Book Study” initiative focusing on the life and canonization of the very first Millennial Saint, Carlo Acutis. Thanks to Mr. Paul Mertzman, who envisioned this as an opportunity for all of our schools to experience such an historic event together!
Blessed Carlo will be canonized on Sunday, April 27th, on the Church's Jubilee of Adolescents. In the weeks leading up to his canonization, our schools will have the opportunity to participate in activities reflecting the manner in which faith and innovation can coexist while demonstrating that sainthood is possible in the digital age. St. Viator along with several other schools have planned a field trip for students in grades 4-8 to view the movie Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality. The movie will be shown in select theaters from April 27-29th.
In order to learn more about Blessed Carlo, our school has also ordered a book and created materials appropriate to each grade level. A very special thank you goes to Mrs. Jessica Blank, Second Grade Teacher at St. Viator, for creating and sharing these wonderful resources!
Spotlight on Adrian – A Shining Example of Faith and Talent
This week, we proudly highlight Adrian, a 7th grader in our Micah 6:8 Program, whose recent solo with the choir moved hearts and lifted spirits. Adrian not only exceeded expectations musically, but also expressed his faith with sincerity and joy, inspiring our entire school community. His performance is a beautiful reminder of the gifts each child brings when nurtured in an environment of inclusion, love, and Catholic faith. Way to go, Adrian — we are so proud of you!

A Journey Through Christ's Passion
We are deeply grateful to our 8th grade National Junior Honor Society members for their heartfelt portrayal of the Living Stations of the Cross. On Holy Thursday at 11am, our school community gathered in the gym to reflect on the suffering, sacrifice, and love of our Savior. Through this powerful and prayerful reenactment, our students helped bring the Passion of Christ to life in a truly meaningful way.
A special thank you to Mrs. Miller, our 8th grade teacher and NJHS moderator, for her guidance, dedication, and faithful leadership in preparing our students for this beautiful presentation.
Second Graders Prepare for First Holy Communion
As part of their special journey toward First Holy Communion, our second graders created their own rosaries by hand last Friday. With care and reverence, each student strung beads with the help of their parent, godparent or family member. At Wednesday's school Mass, the rosaries were blessed by Father Dan, marking a beautiful moment of spiritual preparation and community celebration.
Please keep our second graders in your prayers as they continue to prepare to receive their First Holy Communion on May 3.
1st Grade Mass of the Lord's Supper
The Mass of the Lord’s Supper. This Mass is traditionally celebrated on the evening of Holy Thursday and marks the beginning of the Sacred Triduum—three holy days that lead us into Easter. Because our school mass is on Wednesday school, we celebrated a day early so that our students can experience the significance of this beautiful liturgy.
The Gospel was enacted by our first graders. These students took on the roles of Jesus and the twelve apostles and helped us reflect on the powerful moment when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and shared his final meal with them.
Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Lost Sheep
A Beloved Tradition with Father Bill. Each year, our youngest students (PreK & K) experience the joy and meaning of two cherished Gospel stories brought to life by Father Bill in a tradition that has now spanned 35 years. With hearts wide open, the children listened as Father Bill shared the Parable of the Good Shepherd. After the reading, our little ones became sheep themselves—scattering joyfully across the courtyard before being gently gathered back, just as the shepherd gathers his flock. When one “sheep,” PreK Micah 6:8 student Maisie, was discovered missing, Father Bill found her and returned her to the group—reminding us of God’s endless love and care for each one of us. Following this, Father Bill beautifully shared the story of the Last Supper. In a moment of fellowship and faith, students and their families came together to break bread and share apple juice, echoing the unity of Jesus and His disciples. We are deeply grateful to Father Bill for continuing this treasured tradition, one that leaves a lasting impression on our students’ hearts and helps form them as disciples of Christ.

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

Standards of Excellence School Vitality Survey
At any time, I am happy to speak on “you cannot judge a book based on its cover.” SVS has heart, has the most caring and dedicated staff (they are old school tough which I treasure but they absolutely LOVE our children), has community, has humble children that are taught to be kind. You really don’t understand the priceless value of this until you leave for a couple years and come back. I’m grateful for this perspective!
St. Viator welcomes a variety of students with behavioral and learning challenges that may not otherwise be given the opportunity to learn in a Catholic School. They are welcomed and supported in order to not affect the learning of others. The administration at St. Viator has an open door policy and listens to their teachers. They are always willing to hear new ideas.
Overall, I think our school does a very good job for the children. I understand that you can’t make us all happy but I know they try their best.
As we continue this process, we are hoping to hear from 75% of our families. Please complete the survey (linked below) Your participation is vital in helping us to analyze the school, its programs and impact on student learning.
We realize this WCEA survey is rather lengthy and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We are most grateful for your time and assisting us in this process!

Viator Parish Tuition Rate Reminder
The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes. Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.
In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:
- Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
- Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
- Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.
DO NOT
- Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
- Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
- Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.
Tuition review occurred in December and you should have attended 13 masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the February statement.
Important School Office Reminders
Please be reminded of the following important procedures:
Absences: If your child will be absent from school, per the handbook (pg. 11), parents should notify the school office immediately. This helps us ensure accurate attendance records.
Tardiness: If your child will be late due to an appointment, car issues, etc., please call the school office ahead of time to inform us of the delay.
Early Pickup: If your child needs to be picked up early, it is mandatory that you contact the school office as soon as possible—whether via phone call, email, or a note sent in with your child. Failure to do so can cause classroom disruption and may delay your child’s retrieval.
Urgent: Tuition and Fees Balance Must Be Paid in Full
All outstanding tuition and fees were due in full April 15. All outstanding tuition and fees not paid now must be paid in full by May 15.
Failure to make full payment will result in your student(s) being removed from enrollment and ineligibility for reregistration for the 2025–2026 school year. Additionally, report cards, transcripts and diplomas will be withheld until the balance is settled in full. No exceptions will be made.
We strongly advise you to log into your FACTS account to review your balance and confirm all payments have been made. If you encounter any issues or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Alex or Dr. Kiss immediately.
For assistance with your FACTS account contact 866-441-4637.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
